Bus & MRT

This morning, I told Zyan if he wanted to go gai-gai.
Of course, his response is very affirmative.

I had wanted to bring him to East Coast again to let him ride his scooter-glider.
Then realised that yesterday, he peed onto the baby/child car seat, and I had not fixed it back yet after the washing of the cover.
So with a quick change of mind, I decided to bring him out for a bus cum MRT ride.

So off we went, waited for Bus33.
Came after a few minutes of waiting, and up we hopped on to it.
This is his first maiden bus trip I think.

Showing his dimple:
The gong-gong look at the bus seat.

We took to Kembangan, then switched to MRT.
I guess he's excited because of going out, and not because he's taking MRT for the first time.

Waiting at the platform for the train to arrive

Father and son self-portrait:

Arrival at Singpore Expo station:
There was no aim in going Expo. Purely out of impromptu decision. LOL.

He's a greedy boy. Once alighted, and walked towards the exhibition halls, he saw Texas Chicken's banner, and says "hamburger!".
Ok ok. Greedy boy got his wish fulfilled.
Brought him there to have a small bite.
Look at his face!

Yeah! Hamburger!
After loitering around for a little bit, it was time to bring him home for his lunch.
On the way back to MRT, something caught his attention.

He even sang songs while putting his head in the little hole there.
For me, I just took pictures with my mobile phone, and a video. *giggle*

Once home, had his lunch, then his juice, and off for his nap.
Quite an OK Sunday morning for him I guess.

Redang 2012

We went for the cruise again this year. 01 - 03 Aug.
Star Cruise Virgo to Redang.

It's the The Lees again, but this time, he has a lot of relatives going on-board with him.
A whopping 20-people strength in total, including us.

Anyway, he's the leader of the group, after all, he is sort of a regular cruiser now.

This time round, it is a little bit of disaster for us.
Zyan had some stomach flu on Monday. He vomitted after all meals that day.
Worse of all, he had high fever! At some point of time, it was 39.2 degress celsius!
Brought him to see doctor, had some medicine, and Tuesday seemed to be quite well.
Wednesday morning appeared to be fine too. Great!

Like how it was last year, we went on board around 4.30pm on Wednesday, dumped things into our cabin room, and went for the dinner.
Dinner was so so this time. The so-called fillet I had wasn't great.
Can't remember what else I ate.

After dinner, we went for the show on-board.
It's a magic show by, hmmm, some magician.
It's always interesting to watch magic shows when you don't know the secret behind it.
Zyan looked very attentive during the show, and kept asking me "Why no light?", when the theatre was dimmed except for the stage.
I only told him that the light is at the stage. :P

By the time the show ended, he's also quite tired. Didn't really want to sleep until much later.
Anyway, bathed him, and let him had some milk, and then he fell asleep shortly.

He woke up in the middle of night, asking to be carried. And then vomitted a little bit on me.
Woah! Must buy Toto!
Just a little, not so bad. After wiping him clean, and coaxing him a bit, the little fellow went back to his dreamland again.

Come Thursday morning.
Cool. I felt sick.
I knew right from the moment I woke up, I was unwell.
Felt like vomitting, had diarrhea.
No appettite for breakfast, no appettite for lunch, no appettite for dinner.
Still must push myself to go along with Karinna and Zyan so that Zyan can give his mommy more peace during mealtime.
Once they were more or less done, I still have to make an earlier exit back to cabin room to rest.
Sleep until got headache myself.
Still make myself to go to the Redang beach, which is the highlight of the cruise.
This time, Zyan was awake from the cruise to Redang, and he was happily throwing bread to the fishes at the beach.
I only joined them at the waters after rest a while at some hammock.
Shiok.

The boat ride back to the cruise was very bumpy. One of those old bumboats, no aircon, damn stuffy.

After dinner, they went for the night show as well, but Zyan fell asleep halfway through the show.
Poor mommy had to carry the big boy all the way to cabin room.
Middle of night, Zyan threw out again. This time a lot more, and I was feeling damn giddy with the headaches I had.
Still, he's the one to be served. The parents did all the work. :P

Com Friday morning.
Mommy's turn to be sick.
She had diarrhea. According to her, she went toilet no less than 10 times!
Prawn Dead Me ah!

So we had very very simple breakfast. Both of us also no appettite.
Only Zyan still can eat, although he's still not very well "internally". Greedy boy.
But I guess if your appettite is sill good, it is always a good sign.

By the time it reached Singapore, it's almost 12+pm.
We disembarked around 1pm, and went back home to rest.

Zyan fell asleep on the taxi ride back home.
Sweet little boy.

Next year, Redang 2013?

Light Grouse

At KL LCCT Airport now.

Had to wake up seven early eight early today. Had a 6am flight to catch.
By the time reach customer's site, it was almost 9am already.

Came here to conduct some training session on SAP installations for them.
The thing is, why on earth do this? Why would they need to do installations again? It's all done!
Already voiced out, PM says go on, so I acted as a good boy.

Anyway, I don't expect them to understand much also. I think the audience is pretty much a wrong fit. Alas, just try my best to let them understand some of it.
At least some basic concept should drill into their head.
Installations itself, are really secondary.

In the midst of my session, Karinna called. I rejected the call.
At break time, I saw a SMS about Zyan taking an overdose of medicine, and had to bring him to KK hospital to have more proper check.
Oh! My little boy is being too greedy.

Good that he turned out ok, just needed to be monitored at home.
Hmmmm. Time to have father-and-son talk again!?!?!

So the training went on. It went longer than I expected, as I wanted to share more than installations itself.
Anyway, some questions were raised beyond installations itself, which was actually not bad.
But, I still reserved my thinking that the absorption rate was not very high. :P

Too dry a topic.

Had to rush a little to the train station, so that I would not be late for my flight. I prefer to have ample time always, to take my dinner in peace.
Not bad, reach the airport about 7.30pm. Almost 2 hrs before my flight scheduled to leave.

As I walked, I know I am tired. Been standing for long hours today.
Back hurts, and legs feel weak as well.
Age is catching up. Ahhhhhhhhhhh

Well, it's been a long day. By the time I reach home tonight, it's gonna be a new day soon. :P

Father's Day

Yesterday, we went to a friend's place for some pre-Father's Day celebration.
It's a group where all the parent-couples have only 1 child so far, and each toddler is of the same age.
All were born in the year 2010, and actually, within 1 month period. 3 little boys, and 2 little girls.

Of course, the kids were enjoying themselves, playing and jumping around.
Can't run away from occasional crying for whatever reasons.

We had pot luck for the food.
For ourselves, Karinna prepared one big big plate of Hokkien Mee, a simple dish of egg, and a box of Konyaku (whatever that spelling is).
There were pork ribs, Thai curry etc.
Basically, too much food, can eat until vomit lah.

At the end of the food, there were some 'surprises' for the daddies.
Each of the daddy was given a card, prepared by their child (of course with the mommy's help).
See what I got:

That's his little left hand print, and his 'writings' for wishing his daddy.

So cool!

This will be kept with the loads of greeting cards and wedding cards which I have kept since ages ago.

Data Roaming

I had recently went Desaru over the weekend. While there, I received an SMS telling me that I had amassed more than $50 with data roaming, and it goes on to entice me to sign up for the Data Bridging service.

Interestingly, my phone has an option to uncheck data usage while roaming. It has always been unchecked, as I never have intention to use data roaming service at all. I decided to clarify with my service provider SingTel when I got back to Singapore.

I called, logged an issue, and they took down some information from me. It took a while for someone to call me, and tell me that I had indeed chalked up quite a fair bit for using data roaming service. To be fair, I did reject a call from SingTel the next day, as I was in a meeting.

I was advised, to check the applications on my smart phone, and disable the internet connectivity, as they said some applications will still stealthily access the internet even if we may not be using, even when phone was set to stop data roaming.

I was thinking, if I have 100 applications on my phone, I would be quite busy to check all applications to ensure no data roaming is active.
The simpler way is to have Telco stop the data roaming access isn’t it? That’s a form of protection as well.

#1. I never signed up for data roaming, I don’t think it was part of my subscription plan. I did sign up for data plan though.
#2. I had requested SingTel to stop the data roaming service. I was told it cannot be done.

In the end, he told me he can give me a waiver of 20%.
Ultimately, I have to pay for something which I didn’t ask for, and best of all, to pay for not using at all.
I do not need it. I do not want it.

Perhaps IDA can look into it, and propose ways to best protect consumers from unsolicited charges. This is in many ways similar to the various forms of SMS which entice consumers to reply as subscriber, and keep sending charged messages.

Can anything be done to help consumers?
I guess they won't really care.

I guess even if other providers cannot do anything to data roaming, I will probably still switch provider when the contract expire.
HELLo!
