Rest Day

Today is a day-off for my domestic helper.
Morning, Karinna had yoga class.
Dad was hospitalised since Friday night.
So I am home alone in the morning with my son.
Bonding time!

But it's a good day. Because it rained more than yesterday!
It's a welcomed rain!
It rained on-and-off since 10+am till about 4pm, and once in a while, a heavy one.
Nice change of weather.

So for lunch, me and my little son have to brave the rain to the nearby FeiFei Wanton Noodle for food.
Not the best option, but the nearest.
Zyan's not so good with handling umbrella yet, and still, his cheapthrill instinct is making him use the umbrella. He used 1, and I use another.
Still manageable.

At 5pm, I brought Zyan to visit dad at TTSH.
Went the day before with him as well. Yesterday was the first time he step into TTSH. Today's the second time.
He's just thrilled to go anywhere, as long as out of home. Hehehe.

Came back home about 6.30pm.
Karinna was preparing dinner.
The domestic goddess showed her skills in culinary yet again.

Look at this! Carbonara!

And with bacon!

Cannot do without mushroom soup!

And see how Zyan is enjoying his dinner.

Yum yum! 好吃!

After dinner, was resting and watching Running Man on TV. Pretty funny even though I have watched it on the web before.

Decided not to go for my 'daily walk'.
Another time.
Hopefully, the lazy bug will not follow me too long. :)

Hong Kong - Day4

This is the day.
The day where Zyan was 'brainwashed' to. :D
To Disneyland. To Disneyland. To Disneyland.

Had breakfast at a nearby eatery, then headed to the train station to begin the journey to Disneyland.
Taking train before the expiry of the 1-Day Tourist Pass was not a problem. Yeah!

Weather forecast said it would be quite cold.  15 to 18 degrees celsius.
I like. But not for my wife and my son.

After entering Disneyland, one of the first things that we see is picture taking with Mickey and Minnie.
Nay, didn't queue for it, but hijacked on the sideline. :D

First stop, we went to AdventureLand. Took the raft to Tarzan's Treehouse.
Nothing exciting. Just cheap thrill of taking raft and climbing up the trees.

Then towards Grizzly Gulch. He played a little of water gun stuff. Nearly didn't want to leave.
Then went to Mystic Point. We went to Mystic Manor, where they had some monkey Albert playing with musical box that contained magical moments. There's a part where a screenplay of wall that blasted off and got demolished down, he was scared and cried.
真是胆小如鼠。

On the way to Toy Story Land, saw Minnie Mouse taking pictures with public, and the queue wasn't terribly long, so we joined.
He quite like Minnie Mouse.

We tried the Parachute Drop. It was fun. He had fun seeing the lady opposite us screaming when the parachute had sudden drop. LOL
Then the toy soidiers came out marching, and mingle with the crowds. Zyan is elated with hanging around the green soldiers.

Then we moved on to the main place, the FantasyLand. But first, got to settle lunch.
Took a Fast Pass for Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, then headed down to watch the musical "The Golden Mickies".
Very nice. Disney has a way to mesmerize kids (and perhaps even adults) with the musical display.

Went back to Winnie the Pooh. Just a fairy-tale like journey ride.
Then after that, we had Carousel ride again (yes, again! 2nd episode since Ocean Park!), and you guessed it!
TEA CUPS ride! After probably 30 years or more!
What a way to re-live memories. Turned too much until I quite giddy also. :P

Then it was time to head down to the Parade route. The Disney Parade was starting at 3.30pm. How can let Zyan miss this right? After all, we didn't intend to stay for the night parade where it has fireworks. So 3.30pm parade is a must, cannot be missed.

Went to look for a good place. It's good to be in Disney on Monday. Perhaps just happened that today, the crowded wasn't that huge. What I meant is that it is still bearable with the crowd, watching the parade.
Had to carry Zyan up for him to have better view, and standing on the bench along the Parade route. Kinda fun.
I think he enjoyed that a lot.

After the parade, we went to TomorrowLand. Took some Orbitron ride, just a different form of merry-go-round. Then wanted to try Autopia, which is supposed to be 'future aboard electric cars'.
I let Zyan 'drives' the car. Just press pedal to accelerate and stop pressing to stop the car. Simple operation. I was the one pedaling. Zyan was the one 'wheeling' around. He was happy 'driving' it, that's the main thing. :)

Then decided it's time to leave Disney.

We headed back down to Central again, to Mid-Levels.
Had quick dinner, and bought some additional food back.
Bought the egg-tarts and beef tendons again.
Additionally, roasted goose was also in the list.
It's a feast back at hotel on the last night in HK. Cool.

On the way back in taxi, Zyan was too tired, and fell asleep again.
I think the conclusion is, it's too tiring for him to go holidays.
He should stay back in Singapore next time. :D

Hong Kong - Day3

Today was meant to be a relaxing day.

Zyan woke us up at 7am! Just because he saw the sunlight appearing out of the window.
Because I always tell him, "起来了! 太阳公公起来了!"

Anyway, we took our time slowly for our breakfast, enjoying quality time with son.
Left hotel only around 1030am, with no particular destination to go to.
Today was supposed to be a 'free and easy' day, until such that we didn't do any plan to do particular thing at all.

So we decided to get a 1-day Tourist Pass, travelling around Hong Kong, and then the next day morning, probably can use it to go to Disneyland too!
Cool right?!?!?! :D

So the first stop we went to, Kowloon Bay.
This is more for food. Went to 正斗 for wanton noodle and 牛腩.
I must say it was quite disappointing.
Not great at all, possibly reading some wrong reviews. :D

After our early lunch, we headed to Shatin.
The 2nd most expensive location in the original Monopoly game, if I remember correctly.
Nearly book a hotel here too, in the end decided not to.
I would very much like to explorer other places, rather than always just the same places all the time.

Just walking around near the Shatin station. Even went to the IKEA nearby, thinking of letting Zyan play at the playroom, but it was not opened due to cleaning.
Anyway, the playroom there is actually quite small, probably not that much fun for him.

Then we took the train down to Mong Kok East, walked around Mong Kok area.
Weather today wasn't hot, just a little windy.
Had dessert at 许留山. It made Zyan's day for him.
He is just such greedy boy.

Headed down to Central. It was getting cold by the time we reached there.
First, we went to look for 泰昌 eggtarts. Again, one of Karinna's targeted list of food.
Took a while to find the place.

Due to the disappointment at lunch, this time we went to Mak's Noodle for wanton noodle and 牛腩 again.
This time round, it was more satisfying than the early lunch we had.

By then, poor Zyan was already very tired.
He had kept asking me when were we going back to hotel.

We actually reached by hotel just around 7pm.
After settling his bath and cleaned him up, I went out to buy something.
By the time I got back to hotel room, my son was already sound asleep, and I was told he slept before 8pm!

He had actually walked a lot today, on such a 'relaxing' day. :P

Hong Kong - Day2

Yesterday was the 2nd day that we came to Hong Kong.

I woke up quite early, don't ask me why. I also sian. :P
Anyway, this was the day that we planned for Ocean Park.
Bought simple bread the previous night for breakfast.

We left hotel about 10am. Ocean Park only opens from 10am onwards anyway.
Decided to take a cab there. Cost about HKD145.

Zyan was looking forward for it.
I think as long as it is not home, anywhere can be very exciting for him. LOL

We were thinking that it might be cold for him, and made him wore 2 long sleeve shirts, and of course, cannot run away with the long pants.
As it turned out, it was pretty warm somehow. So had to strip him off 1 of them. Bringing more has advantage of having it when needing it. :D

First, we went to the Grand Aquarium, letting him basked in the wonders of the deep sea.
I think he pretty much enjoy the place. He was marvelled with the giant sting rays 'flying' around in the aquarium.
He even had the chance to touch a starfish. You know, they are a bit like rock. Damn stone 1. Hehehe

Next, went to the Sichuan Treasures where they had 2 pandas in there.
The pandas were pretty greedy. Keep eating food while people were snapping pictures away. Quite cute though.

Then we decided to move elsewhere, to the cable car. Before we hit the cable car, he wanted to ride the Sea Life Carousel. Wah. Karinna and I haven't taken such ride for so many years. Well, all kids sure like this somehow. He even wanted to go for second round.

Cable car, another of kids' favourites. I only remember he kept talking so much, but I cannot remember what he said.

We were just wandering around, and chanced upon the Dolphin show at 2pm. Nice to watch, and nice to pass time there as well.
Along the way, we also went for Ferris Wheels.
Alamak! After so many years also. The last Karinna and I had was the Singapore Flyer.
Ferris Wheels is actually very boring.
But when you ask the kids, they always say they like. :)

After further wandering, we made our way back down to the main entrance area, and decided it's time to leave the place for dinner. Zyan usually eats between 6-7pm.
Notice the sleeping panda in one of the last few pictures taken in Ocean Park.

Took a cab to Times Square. Went to Le Garden, because Karinna wanted to eat there. One of her destinations.

Cannot believe what we ordered.
1 claypo rice. 1 delicious chicken soup. 1 special order of roast chicken and fish.
Eh. 2 adults, and 1 kid.
Eat until wanna vomit siah.
All are actually very savoury.
Si beh ho jiak!
But I think got quite a bit of ajinomoto leh. Pretty thirsty after that.

With a little bit of lingering around Central, we went back to hotel around 10pm.
Poor boy was already very tired.
Right after bath and everything, he fell asleep quite faster after that.
Wonder if the same will happen on Monday when we go to Disneyland. :)
