我们的歌在那里
Yesterday was basically a resting day. Didn't go out until evening time, because need to buy more dog food for the 2 rascals at home.
Maybe should just starve them hor ... ...
Anyway, we went to Eastpoint Mall, mainly to buy the dog food. Walk around a little, bought things from NTUC as well, groceries groceries and more groceries.
As usual, Karinna would slook around see got clothes to buy or not etc. So I went to Popular Bookshop, not look for books. I look for CD.
In November, I bought the first series of the XinYao Collection, named 那一段日子. The second series is out now, and it is called 我们的歌在那里.
The first series was in black. This current series is in white. What's next? :P
Three more series to go ...

First Anniversary
Last year this day, Bloggy Tays was born. It's been a year already! Oh goodness!
Now back in Sungei Petani. The BASIS work here was not undertaken by anyone since I left last September. In between, they had some problem, and I helped remotely from Singapore.
This time came down to check on backup issues. I think the backup strategy looks a bit weird. Still trying to digest to see if it is good at all. Anyway, that strategy wasn't mine, and it's always easier to criticise other people's work than your own.
Alas, what has to be done, it has to be done, and it will be done.
This time I stay at this Emerald Puteri Hotel, which is about the same as Park Avenue Hotel that I stayed the previous times.
This hotel is smaller, the room is also smaller. Otherwise, I would say that it is as good as the other one. This hotel is nearer to 'facilities'. By facilities, I mean coffeeshops and Giant Supermarket. Nothing much is around here for leisure walking.
And this hotel has internet, albeit a not-so-cheap one. Costs RM5.00 for an hour of internet. Better than nothing, and I should not need more than 2 hours. 1 hour should be sufficient for the night.
Still have to get some work done. Don't have luxury of time here. I couldn't care less lah, anyway, this is on Time&Material, the longer I take, the more advantageous it is for me. hehehe
Nah, I won't take advantage lah. I do foresee will still need to do some remote support for about a month or so.
Well, see how.

Casper Again
Went Parkway Parade shop a bit. Bought some bak kwa for my parents.
After shopping, went to visit my parents.
Casper, my little nephew was at home. 5 months old already.

Homework
Today my niece Pauline asked me some Maths questions. It's on remainder and factor theorem.
Wah. Sound so distant away. Forgot almost all parts of it, need to revise a little before I am able to start trying to solve the problem. :P
Mathematics at that level (Secondary 3) is still pretty ok to digest, so still managed to resolve. Alright!
Then she asked me about this. What does "书中自有颜如玉, 书中自有黄金屋" mean?
Wah!
I know what that is, but can't explain well enough. Basically means study hard for the future lah. hehehe
Anyway, wikipedia has something. Here it is:

汤灵伊 - 发烧
The recent SPOP songs have been played on TV already. I didn't watch each and every single episode. I didn't get to hear all the 12 selected songs, and I didn't bother to listen to them online at SPOP website either.
The last time I watched was last Monday, when they aired the #11 and #12 song.
I liked the #11 song, sung by 汤灵伊. Cute song, and the way she sings it, and presented it, I think it's simply cool. There's one part of a bit of robotic move from her part, I simply love it! She's cute lah.

Ok. This is not a new song, probably in the late 90s.
Still, it's played on radio station almost every month, or just nice I get to hear it pretty often, when it was on air.
It's by Top Twinz. Not so famous, pretty-boy-band. There's another song very nice from them, got chance then I'll share it here as well.

Spring Cleaning
Yesterday, went back office to do some 'spring cleaning'.
Not really lah. Recently bought a storage rack, and new servers will be coming into office next week, so went back with my colleauges Albert, Wee Chee and Benedict to re-do the mess of wires and cables in the office.
While re-doing it, you would tend to find some rubbish, and clear them off. Quite a fair bit actually.
Anyway, we finished about 2-3pm, and everything was back to normal. Servers were put back online and in working order.
So just wait for new machines to come in, and place them into the racks. So cool eh.
This morning, at home, we moved the current TV console out of the way. We had ordered some new sideboards and shoerack, which will come in just about an hour or so. Shifted the old TV console to the dining area. Need more storage you know. Lots of rubbish at home too.
Just cannot throw away the 'SOURCE'. DAMN! :P
TV console area very dirty. 8 years never clean already. Wah piang! Eeeeeeeeeeeeks!
So many things to do hor? Sigh.

Blackout
Seven early eight early, heard a 'pop' sound when i woke up but still in sleepy mode.
Then my fan stopped working. Eh..... blackout?
Ka na sai.
So blur blur went out to check. Indeed, the power was cut-off! The individual switches were all ok, not tripped. The main one did. I powered it on again, and within a minute, it tripped again.
I checked around. Nothing special was done leh. Only additional load is the washing machine at that time. No additional current is running leh.
I just switched off 1 or 2 other power sockets. Then on the main switch again, and it seems to be back to normal.
For how long, I don't know.
Weird. Now now ghost month yet leh ... ... ...

Bye Bye $$
Yesterday went to my cousin's daughter first month celebration.
Far far away in Woodlands.
Had to go fetch my parents and sister. My father was somehow 'missing' until the eleventh hour then appeared, else he would be missing from my convoy ... :P
Actually just met my cousins not long ago, as one of them just got married like 3 weeks back? Still, it is good to meet up relatives at times. Nowadays, hardly meet them, and not even Chinese New Year period sometimes ...
Anyway, here's the picture of the baby girl:
Sleepy girl lah. Hehehe. All babies are like that.
So with that baby shower, I am certain $$$$ poorer.
Gave my mom some $$$$, I am $$$$ poorer.
Today, went to order another server for office. After that, I drove to Giant Tampines to order a storage rack. And then, I went over to Courts to order a foldable table set.

First Working Day of 2008
Today is Karinna's first day of work at her new company.
Went out early in the morning (although I don't need to ...).
Had meeting with my colleagues discussing about Hypercube's direction, and possibly working on some brochures to show more about our company. Just some skeleton stuff done, and some meat will be provided by business guru, Gregory.
After lunch, check stuff here and there, and went to Sim Lim to order a DIY Server.
Specification wise is pretty much ok, with 2 QuadCore CPUs, 16GB Ram, 6 250GB Harddisks, I think it should be good enough to run the SAP BI giant. Current system is way too far below. Gosh!
This DIY Server cost $5,260, almost $1,500 more if buy online from 'some brand'.
Hopefully this server can serve us well.
Left Sim Lim around 5pm, so decided to go pick Karinna home. I parked at some small lane opposite Tung Centre, called Karinna, she was busy, and I waited.
My phone rang. Wah! 2020hrs already. If I took a plane, I probably reached Hong Kong already. Sit until my backside pain. If kena economy seat syndrome, I know who is the culprit ... :P

Rubik's Magic Cube
Went to Karinna's ex-colleague's baby twins first birthday party, at Aloha Loyang.
As usual, eat eat eat, talk talk talk, enjoy the sea breeze blahblahblah.
After that, we went to Eastpoint. More specifically, went to V-Hive to look for some furniture. Need to get a storage sideboard near my dining area. Also, need to get a new shoe cabinet to store Karinna's shoes. We're taking fengshui advice to move the current shoe cabinet out of its place. :O
Then came back home. Tired lah.
After watching TV and news, came back to my study room, and saw the half-done magic cube which I did halfway this morning.
Even when during the craze of the magic cube in the 80s, I don't really know the trick of making all the sames correctly. I have to trial and error, twise and turn, whack and roll the cube for a long time before it turned back to perfect six sides.
So this time, there were some instructions provided. I was trying it out, and was sort of stuck, and seemed not to understand how to proceed even with the instructions!
Well, managed to follow the instructions until this stage:
But I think I just happened to read a little closer, and seemed to be able to continue already. *giggle*
Shall work further on that to make it back to perfection.

Reached home around 3am. The countdown was alright, and I am not referring to the countdown on TV or VivoCity. Don't really care about that. :P
On the way out of the host's home, Wendy was lamenting that she needs to lose the 2kg that she has gained recently. Karinna asked how she gained that 2kg. Wendy said 'Eat lah!'.
As I was walking behind, together with Karinna, I whispered to Karinna, "There's only 2 ways (to gain that 2kg). One is just eat, two is don't shit". Ha ha ha.
Woke up about 9+, read a bit of the newspapers and came to check out my computer.
Alamak, my monitor screen problematic. The 'BRIGHTNESS' adjustment of the monitor just do not want to go away. So one small section in the middle of the screen is just always there to reduce the brightness.
New year must buy new monitor liow ...
