Bye Bye 2008

Last day of year 2008.

Had a lunch at office, not a lot of food, but more than enough for the people. We don't have a lot of staff yet, till now it's only about 17 people.
We ordered for 20 people, but only about 13 or 14 people were around for the food. :P

In the end, I had to pack a large tray of noodles home, and another smaller tray of other food.
Eat until I damn full.

So what's the thought for year 2008?

Too much headache with the current financial crisis faced everywhere. Amazing greed of a certain few can cause such big ripple effect all around the world.
Anyway, small fry like us cannot do much, and probably have no power in preventing it. We have to leave it to the leaders of all corporations and perhaps governments to do the work.
Then again, who are the greedy ones?
Hmmmmm ...

I have no other thoughts. I can't think.
I'm not a leader. :P

Pat

As I was searching the internet for the song 秋心赋 previously, I stumbled into a blog where some of the entries put up were pretty interesting.
noxologous

He had an entry as below:
=== Begin ===
I think there's a reason why we pat animals on their heads.

Because we have no other means of establishing communcation with them.

When dealing with humans of different wavelengths.

Perhaps we should just go up to them.

And pat them on their heads
=== End ===
I find it quite funny.

X'mas

This year's X'mas doesn't seem to be very joyful. Afterall, it's the badly-hit-financial-crisis-year. :P

Anyway, I don't really celebrate X'mas, it's just another holiday.

On X'mas eve, we cancelled our office buffet lunch, because we didn't plan earlier, and by the time we want to make booking for the mini buffet, the vendors were all fully booked! How cool!
So I told my colleague to arrange for New Year's eve instead, to usher in the new year.

Didn't do much on X'mas day itself either, only went to Karinna's friend's house in the evening for dinner. And please, 9pm somemore!
There's a purple theme to the party, but I have nothing purple, so didn't bother about the theme for myself.
Brought a wine that was wrapped in purple, and the wine won us a bottle of wine to be brought home! How exciting!

By the time we reached home yesterday was already midnight.

And yes, I did give my wife a present. It's the item (c) in this picture, the necklace. Nice or not?

Today, went office to interview 2 candidates. All not experienced in our line of work, but we should always give chance to new people right? That took the whole of my morning, and the rest of the days, I was just surfing the net researching for information regarding Perth.

Have to have a rough idea of what to do and where to go in Perth. We've booked our flights for April!

Ah Ma Birthday

Today celebrated my mother's birthday. Her actual birthday is tomorrow, gotto do it earlier right?!?!?!

Then she called me at 11am, said wanted to go and pray my grandmother.

Ok lor. Drove her there, finished the rites, then went on to pick my father, then go back to Tampines at my brother's home. On the way, picked up Karinna and the food prepared.

Alas!
People are late. As someone who is seldom late, I sometimes really cannot understand why people can be late for appointment, and with poor reasons.
More specifically, my sister Kelly and brother Melvin cannot make it in terms of being on-time.
WEAK.

The food is not a lot of variety, but somehow, was still quite full from the food. But the kids are there to make the atmosphere a little noisier. Of course, the noise-maker is none other than Casper.
Cha-si-lang. hehehe

Some pictures taken when Ah Ma needs to cut the birthday cake.

See the stylo-mylo hairstyle. C@@L.

A short clip of Matthew playing 'ball ball'. :P

Stewhaus 2

This evening, went to Stewhaus at Siglap there to eat again.

This time, we took the stew. Hungary Beef Goulash. Quite alright, the beef pretty soft. Took a chicken chop too, so so only.
Cannot miss the mushroom soup, so ordered 1 as well. The last time we went, mushroom soup was also on our table. :D

Had a quick bite, coz the dinner was like 9pm. Was hungry you see. :P

齐天大圣

I was browsing the net, and was linked to this.

Laugh until I pengsan, then sit straight then laugh until I heh heh chuan again.
我的眼泪都掉下来了!

It's pretty vulgar, please do not watch if you cannot take it.

You've been warned!

This episode will definitely not be able to pass censorship by Singapore's MDA standard.

大家说华语

In the late 70s and early 80s, Singaporean chinese speak their own dialects, and communications between different dialect groups can be problematic at times, although this allow people to be exposed and learn other dialects as well.

鸡同鸭讲 can be quite funny sometimes.

Then, the government decided to come up with the "Speak Mandarin Campaign", and TV was then not allowed to broadcast dialect shows anymore. That's when we cannot watch Hong Kong serials in Cantonese any longer, and they were all dubbed in Mandarin.

The "Speak Mandarin Campaign" came with the signature song, sung by the "不食人间烟火的" Tracy Huang!

Isn't it cool that people still managed to have this song somewhere?

Dinner

Sometimes, I get worried about what we will have for dinner.
No, not that it is not enough or no good.
On the contrary, it can be TOO MUCH.

See? If you can count, there are NINE plates of dishes, of which 2 of the plates have their identical counterparts in there as well, so that makes it SEVEN different dishses!

How scary?!?!?!

How many people for dinner? In total, should be 6, out of which my mother-in-law doesn't eat a lot of the food, and my wife will decide depending on the food available.

Still, 9 plates of dishes is really too much.

*burp*

Zoo

Today, went to the Singapore Zoological Gardens. We reached there around 0930, then started our trails.

First, saw the otters, damn smelly. :P
Then walk down towards the Polar Bear showcase. They had a feeding time at around 1000hrs. Along the way, look at some other animals blahblahblah.
Can't remember what some of those animals are also.

The polar bear quite cute.
Sheba and Inuka. Inuka is the polar bear that is born in Singapore Zoo!

Took quite a bit of pictures, and some videos as well.
Enjoy!

East Coast Parkway Gathering

Went to East Coast Parkway today around 4pm. Weather was good, no very bright sun, a little cooling actually. Sun only came out brightly for a short while.

Had a small gathering again, meeting a few aunties. This time, another uncle came along. I was betting that he wouldn't appear though, but he did. hehehe

As usual, the kids went to play at the beach, and the oldies just sit at the bench and talk.

I was the first to be there, only managed to get a small bench, but they all complained got ants running around. It's only after some time that another location was vacated, then we moved to the bigger and better location.

To the people who are not early, don't complain! :P

After the kids finished the beach play, they wanted to play balloons, and asked me to blow. I blew like mad, but the balloon just cannot inflate! @!#$@#$%#%^#@@!$&
hehehe

Left the place around 7+, drove WeiLee home then head back home.
It's a pretty long day.

Exciting Saturday

This Saturday, we're going to the ZOO!!!!!!!!! Yipee!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We've got 2 complimentary tickets that are going to expire end of this month, so might as well use it.

She has not been to the zoo for like more than 20years, and he last visited it like 15 years ago!
The 2 suakuS.
*giggle giggle gi gi*

So exciting!!!

Then don't know how long we'll stick around out of home this Saturday, and I have a date with my girlfriends around 5.30pm too!
Life is full of activities huh? :P

Last met these OLD friends like half a year ago, also during school holidays.
Guess the mamaS are free-er during holidays.

Sony Picture Station

Yesterday, one of the gift collection is a Sony Picture Station.
New toy! :D

So now can print pictures without going to the shop or machine anymore!
Cool huh?!?!

It's still in the box, coz' I have nothing to print now.

The only thing, how much is the paper, and how much is the ink? Hmmm.

Spare Tyre

This morning, after sending Karinna to work, I drove around to run some errand.
Went to NTUC at Bras Basah to collect gift redemption, then went to Kallang to collect dog food, which we had been buying for quite some time.
Buy 10 get 1 free, and we have 4 free packets.

On the way to office, I decided to stop by at a Caltex Service Station to check on my tyre. Suspected another hole in the tyre again!
The guy checked checked checked, then told me that the tyre is beyond repair. He suggested to use the spare tyre in the car, and then get another older tyre from him as a spare.
OK. What choice do I have? NOTHING!

Let him do lor. More important to have the tyres in proper working condition.

The "new tyre", have not seen the daylight for the past 2.5 years, is finally put its use on the road.
The only tyre on my car that has 'colour lines' on its surface. :D

======================================================

Precious & Sapphire

This week I was attending a course on Business Planning & Consolidation. Sounds boring, I know. :P

Work, what to do? Work!

Today, was at home whole day. Karinna went for her physiotherapy, and my mother-in-law was hospitalised. I was home alone, except for my dogs.

They were playing, somehow, and I took a video of it. Short one. :P

Police

Few days ago, went to Bedok Police station, hoping to get some updates regarding the previous weekend hooha.

Actually, I tried calling the number provided in the website, but can never get through. Gave up, and went personally there.

At the counter, the police on duty there simply cannot trace the case log, even after I provided my IC and my mother's IC.
Address also supplied, still cannot find.
Don't know what kind of Business Intelligence tool they using. Maybe it's time to change. :P
After many many tries, he said he'll try some brute force way, and finally manage to trace an incident number, and the investigation officer's name.
Officer not on duty, hard to get update from them. Their system has no record of what is the next update status!

Funny.

Just wait for them to call might be a better choice ... ...

Spaghetti

Today, the domestic goddess displayed her prowess in culinary again.
This time, spaghetti.

What's more impressive is that, she hurt her left ankle yesterday. Slipped and sprained, and cried like a baby ... ...

Anyway.
She whipped up this:

This plate is acually an extra plate. That means, this is my supper in another few hours' time! Oh my god!

It's a simple and decent meal. Just have some sausage in there, plus onions. I hate onions. :D
And the other plate shows additional side dish. Chicken breast meat.

Overall verdict: My wife's cooking not so bad. *wink wink*

FSI Congress

We had a exhibition booth for an event in Suntec today and tomorrow.
It's Financial Services Industry Congress.

Basically, we're there to promote some awareness to the software which we are reselling. PowerSim
It's a software that helps to do simulation, be it for financial purpose, logistic purpose, or even resource planning.

Just a small booth in the exhition hall.

See the hamsom guys from Hypercube, entertaining the prospect in the centre.

Well, the crowd is not a lot, but I guess this is a good practice for us to start reaching to a little bit more mass audience.
It can be helpful for the future. :P

心晴大动员 Life Transformers

I think this is a fantastic show.
No doubt, it can be very heart-aching to watch the show, but at the same time, it can be very overwhelming to know that you are living so much better than you think you are.

Of course, home home has a hard to pronounce mantra.
I've learnt to one laugh and go ... ...

Today's episode was great. I find the 9 year old Wang Chunfeng an amazing child. I believe any parent who has a child like that, will feel very blessed.

I think I have a liking for such shows. Previously, the US show "Three Wishes" is a must-watch for me on Sunday mornings if I were home. Likewise, "Life Transformers" should be watched if you have the time.

Apparently, it appears to be receiving very high viewership in Singapore.
心晴大动员, 加油啊!

Maintenance Certificate

My installation of the SAP system did not go well in the first try. Error occurred somewhere related to XI portion of the installation.

Since I don't really bother with the XI part for now, I decided to uninstall, and re-install only with the component that I wanted.

All went well, and the system was up and running on Saturday actually. Did some post steps tasks, and it dragged till today.
Everything was ok.

As I tried to patch the system futher, I encountered new problem. After checking it out, SAP is introducing another thing to (in a way) prevent abuse of rampant SAP installations.
That means, more pain in my ass. :P

Technically, it is introducting this thing called Maintenance Certificate, which will last for a period of 3 months each time, to validate that the server installed has valid licensing with SAP.

By Jan 2009, it becomes a compulsory thing. Terok!

Guess I have to read up more stuff, in order to prepare my systems for it.
hehehe. Pain!

Linux

I had been trying to test install SAP system on my home PC for some time. Actually, I had stopped for a long time because I kept hitting on problem previously.
I had not re-tried for about 1-2 months already, and I just get myself to do so again. Ultimately, I want to put other components into the system when done.

Usually, such installation is easy feat to me, just that this particular instance is on Linux, and I used CentOS, which is technically not a supported platform for SAP system.
But then, there are some documents available to roughly say how to go about doing it.

Well, the document is based on an older CentOS4, and I am using CentOS5.

Typical problem about having to use the Java version from IBM. This part was ok. Couldn't start installing the system due to this "libXp.so.6" missing.
Took me a while to find out how to get it done.
yum install libXp.x86_64
That's the command to install it since I am using a 64-bit version of Linux.

So once with that done, it seems to be a bit more smooth-sailing.

At this point of time, it is still installing, and probably will finish only by tomorrow or maybe even Saturday.

I was crazy, I installed ABAP/JAVA/BI_JAVA/EP/NWDI/Mobile/PI.
Ha ha ha.

Will see what happen, at most re-do all over again.

Laksa

Ahhhh. My beautiful wife is in the mood to be a good domestic cook today. She went to buy Laksa Paste from PrimaDeli the other day, and said wanted to make laksa on Sunday.

After yesterday's wedding dinner, actually I was still feeling full. But since my wife cooks, eat the whole pot also can lah!

So this morning, went to market to buy some more ingredients, like bean sprout, prawns blahblahblah.

By noon time, the laksa fragrance is lingering around. Hmmmmmm.

Here we go, the ingredients prepared for the final product:

The laksa gravy with the tau pok cooked and heated. Not a big pot, but enough:

This bowl was the first scooped to be ready, for my mother-in-law:

This is mine, picture taken on the dining table, and there's more sunlight:

Finally, the bowl for the domestic goddess herself:

SEDAP!!!!!!!!!!! Yum yum! ;)

Come get it, before it's all gone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *pooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooof*

Bed & Wardrobe

This morning went to office, coz' I've arranged a colleague to do a sharing session with fellow colleagues on certain topic for Business Intelligence and Planning.

Turn out was ok, and hopefully the audience can get a better understanding of the Business Planning & Simulation part of SAP. Afterall, to grasp everything within a single day is not exactly possible. :D

After the session was done, I headed down to Bedok old home. The ordered furniture is supposedly to be delivered today. By the time I reached there, around 2.30pm, the wardrobe has just arrived. Shortly after, the bed frame came in. Then after about half and hour later, the mattress popped by.

Funny, I wasn't really expecting the delivery to be broken into 3 different schedules. I guess it's a matter of mix and match of the items and the BEDS.SG folks probably arranged that way in they special way of cutting costs. Items are most likely from their different sources. *shrug*

At least delivery timing is pretty ok. They told me 2-6pm, and all delivered around 4pm. Not so bad after all.

I guess have to wait to see if the old man will complain, then will know if it is VALUE for money. Actually, I doubt my dad will complain much for the new furniture.

Here's the picture taken for the bed and the wardrobe. Ahhhh, the mattress cover is with Mr Bean print. My sister Kelly bought it, I didn't know about it. I bought another bed sheet the other day, and brought to him yesterday already.
Anyway, need to change bed sheet, so having extra is ok.

Wednesday, November 5, 2008

Furniture

I've been going to Ikea a few times lately. Went visiting some furniture shops at neighbourhood areas as well.

Why?

Need to get a more proper bed for the old man at the old home.
And he specifically asked for a wardrobe that has a locking compartment too!

I also made search on internet as well, and found this some websites that sells bed and bedframes etc.
I think the site is pretty good. In fact, lots of reviews seem to be more on the positive sides. Of course, we cannot be sure if the reviews are specially done up to entice customers.
There are other forums that gave comments regarding the items from the website.

I just made an order for a single bed and bed frame, plus another wardrobe. Can't expect much from the wardrobe quality, but the more important item which is the mattress should be ok.
Total damage for that is $463!
Expensive? Cheap? *shrug*

So, let's hope for the best. :D

Aztech Wireless Adapter

Being IT Professional can be a pain in your own ass. *ouch* hehehe
Nah.

Everytime got computer problem within family homes, I become the helpdesk technician.
This time, my brother's PC at home had problem. Internet connectivity problem.

I previously checked, and confirmed it's hardware problem with the DLink Wireless Adapter. Can't detect at all.

Last weekend, I bought one. Aztech WL230USB Wireless Adapter. Not that it is good, it's just that it is CHEAPER!
Anyway, I somehow think that it will spoil again in another few months' time. Cross my fingers, and legs, and whatever ... ... ...

Just now, before coming back home, went to fix the problem. Getting the adapter to work is non-issue, but somehow still cannot connect to internet!
#W$@#%#$^%$^$#@!%^$%&^$^#$^&&*^*^#$%#&%^(*&)(&^*%^#@%^%*(*&U&@#W@

In the end, I had to reset the wireless router to get it to work. Dumb machine.

Well, at least it can work now.
1 down, ???? to go ... ... ...

Swensens

Since no maid, no cooking, went out for dinner today.
We had 3 vouchers for Swensens, which are for full meals!
Just nice, 1 for me, 1 for Karinna, and another 1 for my mother-in-law.

So we headed to White Sands' Swensens.

First the soup of the day. Think it's vegetable soup. *shrug*

We have side dishes that come with the meal. We ordered these:

Mussels, Prawn Dipper, and Rodeo Wings.
For main course, Karinna and myself had the medium-rare Ribeye Steak, and my mother-in-law took the Chicken-in-a-Jacket.

Overall, the food is so-so. Of the above, the better one would be the Rodeo Wings.

At Swensens, you cannot leave without eating ice cream. Since the meal comes with a scoop of ice cream, of course we didn't order any other.

Ice cream is not bad.

Best of all, I love the feeling of eating 霸王餐.
Just leave without paying after eating.
COOL!

Maidless

This morning, sent my maid to the airport. She went back home to help take care of her daughter who is going to give birth in a few days' time. Yeah, my maid is going to be a granny soon.

Already told her to watch out her luggage weight, in the end, have to pay extra 8kg of excess baggage! 1kg costs $10! Wow, if put my in as excess baggage, that would be $750 extra!
Ooops!

Thus, we'll be left without maid for the next 3 weeks or so.
So have to do a bit more house chores again. *yawn*

Hope she enjoys her break from our clutches. :D

Di G. Carella

Candy Candy

Yes. I am crazy.

Just not long ago, I posted this.

Yesterday, after our swimming lesson, we went to Marine Parade. There was a pasar malam (actually, more like morning lah, not malam :P), and I was walking around and saw Candy Candy DVD.

My brain must be working weird then, I bought it. heh heh heh

So if any one wants to reminisce the past for a moment with this classic famous cartoon, feel free to borrow from me! :P

Hort Park

After the popiah/laksa, we just did a bit of shopping at the NTUC and bought some stuff. Cannot remember buy what also.
Age is catching up, memory is failing some times. Perhaps a lot of times ...

Since we're in the west, decide to pop over to Hort Park, which we had wanted to go for the past many weeks.

We just walked around the place without any aim. Went to the other end which supposedly will link up towards Kent Ridge Park as well, but we didn't move on from there. Not in the correct attire. We wore sandals there, but the path to go further seems to be a little more muddy place, and appears to climb up higher as well.
Damn hot weather you know, it was 4+pm!
I'm not crazy even if I am SiowKow.

Some pictures taken within Hort Park, probably can arrange another time to go again, and go further to Kent Ridge Park. *shrug* We'll see.

After the walk, we drove to McDonald along Farrer Road to take a quick bite. More like greedy than hungry lah, but terrible, I mean the fries tasted horrible (although edible), and the coke is somehow not good as well.
Just rested there for a while before heading back home. :)

My Cosy Corner

Last Sunday, hit a wall when visited Coronation Plaza for the popiah.

Today, we went again at around 2+pm to check it out.
It was opened. :D

So we ordered 2 popiahs, and 1 laksa.

See the supposedly delicious food we had:

The size of the popiah is normal. Laksa is a little small in size, without much incredient except for beansprouts and fishcake. No cockles, no prawn.

Another closeup picture of the popiah. You can see the eggs at the topmost part of it. Hmmmm.

Overall, we think the popiah is not bad, but a little pricey at $2.20 each.
The laksa is definitely considered expensive, at $3.80 per bowl. I probably can finish 2 bowls in 5 minutes or less. It tasted ok though.

Bloody full. *burp*

Lost & Found

Ahhh. The lost man has been found.
He called me this morning to complain that the mobile phone cannot work.
Cannot call out, cannot receive calls.
Erh ... ... ... ???

So terok huh. First disappear and I have to run around to look for him. I did.
Yesterday went back home, he not around. Went to downstairs coffeeshop, unlikely for him to be there. Went to the Blk511 hawker centre, not there too.

Then went to Blk418 coffee shop, cannot find either. Went to Bedok Interchange and search, see no sign of old man.

Then went back to check Blk526 before I went back home, and then re-visited Blk526 again at 10pm.

So I declared him to be missing, although I know a big likelihood is that the mobile phone has no more credit.

$6 credit is indeed too little, but hey, he is the one that said he does not make a lot of calls! @!#$&%^#$#%^%&(*&*&#$%#$

So before went to look for him again earlier, went to get a top-up card. This time I got him a $18 credit.
Of course, I cannot siam the chance of telling him off about using the phone so much, taking into consideration that he is likely not to make use of the phone that much.

So this time round, told him to charge the phone everyday for 2-3 hours instead of checking the battery bars on the phone.
And told him explicitly that calling out cost $$$, and receiving calls are free.

Will that sink in?
Hmmmm

Missing

This afternoon, my brother's maid called me, and asked if I had passed the mobile phone to my father, and whether the prepaid card had been topped up.

Of course I did.

She said the number cannot get through, and subsequently, my mother also called me to ask me what happened to the mobile phone.

Hmmm. How the hell I know?

So I left work around 5pm, then went to Bedok to take a look.

No one at home. Passport is somewhere in the home also.
Just that no matter how I call, the mobile phone just cannot get connected.
I taught him how to use mobile phone also, albeit a crash course.

All the credit used up? Maybe. It's only just Sunday that it was topped up (although with just a $6 credit), but he said he won't have a lot of phone calls to make anyway!
Maybe cheapthrill caused him to make a few more calls.
$6 credit can be easily used up actually.

Then went back again to take a look around 10pm. Still not home.
Sigh.

Have to report police soon.

Time Management - Randy Pausch

A few months ago, I posted a blog entry about "The Last Lecture" by Randy Pausch.
And a few weeks ago, as I was trying to help my nephew Benjamin check his computer problem, he told me he bought the book, and that Randy Pausch had passed away in July 2008.

One thing is that, I would probably get the book from him to have a read.

As I was trying to search for some time management stuff on internet, his name appeared on some of the search result, and I took some looks at some of the sites.

Here's a 76-minute video on Time Management by Randy Pausch.
See if this video can be of any help to check on your own personal time management.

Alamak! I have no time to finish watching it! hehehe

Radish Cake & Chocolate

Today woke up pretty early, at 7am. Early for non-working day. Probably due to sleeping early the day before. Slept at 11pm yesterday night, partly because of the anti-histamine which I took as well, to curb my running nose.

Anyway, so early wake up also do nothing, so just read newspaper. By then, it's like 9am already.

Switch on TV to watch the new Free-ti-air channel Okto.
Nothing interesting to me, except it shows "The Three Investigators". It's the detective series fiction by Alfred Hitchcock, and it's the kind which I read when I was in my late primary levels.
Just a little refreshing to watch a bit of the stuff on TV.
Didn't really finish watching. hehehe

Went out to buy some electrical wire for our salt lamp.

After lunch, went over to visit my mother. Alas, she went out! I was supposed to go there to get some stuff for my father anyway. So took the stuff, and off I go to the old home, where the old man is.

Passed him the stuff, and more importantly, the mobile phone for use. Have to teach him a bit on how to use it, you know. Suaku is mountain tortoise. :D

Then clean up the toilet a little for him, somehow, it was a little dirty at that time.

Then went for a little walk, and back home to rest a bit.

Then as we watched TV, they shown something about popiah, at Coronation Plaza. Then I said, let's go! And off we go.
Damn lucky too, "My Cosy Corner" is closed. And they don't sell popiah on Sundays too! Since travelled that far, decided to switch to Sunset Way, to get the nice nice radish cake.
Didn't take picture of it, yet.

This time ok. The shop is opened, and they still have radish cake! So we bought 1. It's not cheap ok! But it's nice. We ate before.
While there, they sell cakes as well. We decided to have 1 single slice of "Best Ever Chocolate". Yum! Yum!

By then, it's like 6pm already, so headed way back home. On the way back, stopped by at Far East Flora, as the 花痴 wanted to buy some flowers to put at her office desk.
花痴? Who? Don't ask me! :)

Villa Marina

Yesterday, after work, went to Villa Marina.

Karinna's colleagues have some sort of 'pre-Deepavali' celebration at one of the colleagues' home at Villa Marina.
Thus, it's Indian food catering! :D

First of all, the place is nice. The pool looks great!
Then the food is good. Probably not cheap, since it's about $17 per head for the food catering. You have nasi bryani, tandoori, naan, mutton curry blahblahblah.
All tasted pretty good actually.

Actually it is more of have the colleagues mingling around with each other, building rapport etc etc. Some of them brought their kids along as well. Not many, just less than 10 kids actually.

Food lasted around 9pm+, then it was adjourned to the Karaoke room. Since it is not a single race group, so all choose only English songs. And due to the age group, the songs are not so new songs. hehehe
ABBA, BeeGees, BarryManilow. My goodness! Oldies, but goodies.
I sang one song. This song. :D

Then the Indians had a special session. They did some indian dance! hehehe
Kinda cute.

It was around 1130hrs that we left, and gave her colleauge and his family a ride back home.
Tired.

Noise?

Sigh.

It wasn't my intention to put music background for the previous posting of the slides. Didn't even know it was there.

I am not sure how it got in, maybe it was defaulted to have the music in there, and I didn't notice.

Somehow, when web pages play music without my 'consent', I didn't really like the idea. No wonder I always keep my computer volume to super low all the time.

I have to admit though, that many years ago, when I created my own website, putting background music in there is a novel idea.
Now I think, such novelistic stuff disappears as age goes up. hehehe

Well, that's a few more post before the music goes off from this blog. Before that, catch the funny face before it disappears from the first page of this blog!
*giggle*

Matthew's Birthday

Today is Matthew's birthday celebration. Actually, the actual date is tomorrow, 13 Oct, but of course, the earlier Sunday would be a better choice for celebration.

So we went there around 1pm, the earliest to be there. The rest of the people roll in slowly, his friends and my other siblings etc.

Most of the pictures I didn't take with flash on, so it didn't turn out well. Anyway, I'm not into photography, so sue me! :D

Then we went back around 4pm, coz' my mother-in-law was tired. Need to rest a little bit.

The saga continues, not for birthday-related stuff, but for settling the troublesome old folk of mine.
Don't really want to write much on that now, stop reading. hehehe

PSP

Today, after settling the electricity and water supply at Bedok home, I went to collect gift redemption from NTUC Income at Bras Basah.

It is a promotional gift for purchasing Vivolife Insurance. Anyway, that should be the last time I get any more insurance plan. No $$$ already!

So here it is, the Slim and Lite PSP from Sony, courtesy of NTUC Income.

Actually, I had wanted to give to my nephew Eugene, but he rejected!
How cool huh?!??!?!

What am I supposed to do with this PSP then? Hmmmmmmmmm

Old Home

Right now, I am back at my old home, my old Bedok home.
Yes, it is still our property, although we have not lived here for a long time, at least for me.

This is the living hall, quite empty now, but somehow, already has bags of useless stuff inside there. I checked earlier, they were my brother's files from his NTU days. Not sure why it ended up here though.
This is also the place I slept when I was young, at least until my army time for what I can remember. I slept just outside the main door. I am the 看门狗.

This is the kitchen. It was renovated once when we stayed there, at least the floor tiles looked newer than the living room's.

Next, the master bedroom.

This is the other bedroom, where my other siblings shared. My grandmother used to sleep in this room too. Not sure how they all squeezed in the room, guessed all were pretty petite and small size back then huh?

This is actually an extension of the living room. Our unit here is supposed to be like 2-Bedroom, '2'-LivingRoom like that. So this is the extension. This is also the place where I upgraded my sleeping area. Slept here after my army I think. :P

So there it is, my old home.

I am here today to wait for the electricity and water supply to be re-connected for use. Have to get this done in order for my dad to stay here.
Well, that's another problem which has to be handled.
