幸福小男人

Yesterday Karinna cooked again!
So went to Giant Tampines after visiting her mother, and bought heaps of things.

This time, she made Lasagna. Beef Lasagna. Can't do without cheese right? And Lasagna skin.

Dump a picture of large view for you to see her works! hehehe
That's the big tray. There was a small tray, about half that size, that was eaten before I remember to take pictures. :P

So that was yesterday's dinner. No prize for guessing today's dinner.

My wife's a great cook! :P
我是幸福小男人! hehehe
'coz I 胸无大志!Really no mole on my chest ok!!!!!!!!!!

Hospital

Eh. Seems like visiting hospitals quite often these few months.

End of last year, had to visit my mother-in-law after she fell down. She's still at MediCare centre, but is improving well now, so hopefully she can be home by end-Aug?

Next, my grandmother who passed away, about 2 months ago?

Then my mother who forgotten why she went clinic, and then was referred to hospital. That was last month?

Today receive SMS from my sis that said that my father was in hospital. Apparently, he went to hospital yesterday morning, after feeling unwell while having his morning coffee at coffeeshop.

He went to CGH, and was admitted.

He did not tell anyone, as he had forgotten our numbers, until this morning, he suddenly remember the maid's number. Before my maid called me, my sis had somehow managed to call around polyclinic and hospital and found out he was hospitalised.

Weird people from Tay family huh?

Should not nothing too serious, still, old people tend to have more sickness generally, and is good to be checked anyway.

Hope he can go home earlier lah.

FaceWarp

Stumbled upon weird application on my mobile. So I had a little fun of it.

Didn't put the description of the warped face in the picture, but here it is.

Professor, Alien, Big Nose, Alien Hybrid
Gobbler, Square, Sharpchin, Long-faced
Happy fool, Insect, Upnose, Twister
Small Nose, Wide Smile, Grit, Big Face

Visas

This week is basically a Visa-week.

On Monday, had to go to India Embassy to get visa. It was crowded when I was there. The queue was slow at first, but in the end it does move quite alright. On the whole, waited about 1hr before handing in my application for the visa.
Costs? $80 for 6months visa, and I was able to get it the next day.

Today, went to Indonesia Embassy to get visa as well. The last time I came here, the place was a little run down. Apparently it looks different from the last time I was there. It wasn't as crowded as India Embassy, and in fact, I was able to submit my visa application within 20 mins. Could have been shorter if I remembered to bring my pen along with me, and if I didn't use the wrong form. hehehe
Costs? $170 for 1 year visa, and can get it on Friday.

Should be heading to one of these destinations next week.
Hmmmm. So exciting..... *yawn*

猪之歌

It's the year of the pig now. But this song is not a new song, probably 2 years back.
Kinda humourous song though. Sung by 香香,one of the more popular singers from internet.

Here's the Shockwave Flash for the song. Check it out.

Cake

I make cake. You cannot eat. neither can I.
Karinna baked cake. We can eat. You? Depends.

So she baked one yesterday night.
Guess what, that can be my breakfast/lunch/dinner for today and tomorrow, possibly.
I should be so lucky, qik ki, buey ki, kow ki. I should be so lucky you know!
:P

Apartment in Jakarta

Back in Singapore yesterday night. Definitely good to be home.

The place where we stayed is not particular exciting. Well, exciting if you count the encounter with cockcroaches. Otherwise, it's not great. Weak aircon, no fan, no water heater for bath, no blanket, no towel etc ....

Just make-do with whatever we can for the 4-5 days. But if for too long term, then it's a bit difficult to adjust to.

So we'll make changes to that, hopefully, the next time round, when we go there, especially for my colleagues who may be stationed there for a few months, things can get better.

Some other pictures taken during this short trip
Here's a glimpse of the apartment that I stayed in Jakarta. Kinda bright, coz taken in the afternoon, and sunlight was quite bright for the place:

Jakarta

Now I am in Jakarta. Starting a project here soon, so came down with my colleague to check things out, and do some preliminary training and blueprint works.

Came over here on Monday actually. I went to the airport without any ticket. Just queued at the standby counter, and just wait for seats to be made opened. Luckily, managed to get a seat half hour before the flight, and so here I am!

Was supposed to arrange for return ticket upon reaching, but I forgot! :P
So yesterday called Garuda and managed to confirm a flight back to Singapore on Friday. Funny thing is, must go to the ticketing counter to get the ticket today before 11am! ahhhh... how how?

See how lah. Maybe kena stucked here?!?!?!?

As for the accomodation, quite terok. When back home then I post some pictures of the apartment. hehehe

Glorious Food!

Today had dinner at this place called Ming Kee Live Seafood. It's located along McPherson Road, just next to the coffeeshop that has the famous Kway Chap stall.
If you don't know where it is, too bad. :P

It's not the first time we went there. Karinna and I have been there a couple of time. The last time was during CNY where we had our usual CNY meetup.

This time, we went there with her brother and sister-in-law.

Foodwise, since we've been there a few times, that means it's pretty good lah. It's usually full house on Fri/Sat/Sun as it seems. Better to do reservation if want to go there.

Shall not describe the food, else make you salivate, not so good eh? ;)
However, shall put some pictures here to let you 'imagine' the food.

Of course, can't do without the picture of the hamsom boy and beautiful girl, plus the family members. hehehe

Food pictures shall be smaller to contain your excitement. :P

Modestos

Had dinner with our group of friends at Vivo City's Modestos.

There was this promotion with UOB card that provide some kind of one-for-one deal.
Buy 1 pizza/pasta, can get another pizza/pasta free. Will be charged with the higher priced item. Max 2 free items per table per card per whatever .....

So we ordered for maximum use of the free items, obviously. And definitely not enough, ordered few more others.

The pizzas were not bad. Pastas, hmmmm, so so.
Quite worth the value if go for the special one-for-one deal. :P

After that, went to Pacific Confectionary for drinks. Expensive coffee lah.
Comfy seats though. hehe

Forgot to bring camera to take pictures though.

Split Second

Not sure who else watches this show. 争分夺秒。Something like Internal Affairs huh?

I think it's the kind of unpredictive twists that make me want to watch it.
Makes the whole show very exciting. :P

Sometimes have to work then have to miss the show, but as much as possible, 10pm I will just sit at my sofa and be glued there. hehe

Oh well, have a conference call at 11pm later. Just nice after the show, have to work again.

Life's hard, persevere on!

Hokkaido

Didn't go Hokkaido lah. Siow!

Today did quite a few things.

Early in the morning, went to Tampines Mall to get some eyedrop for my mom. Apparently, there's a "Hokkaido Fair" by Isetan happening there.
We bought quite a number of things from Shop'N'Save at Century Square, and bought some 'squid rice' at the Hokkaido Fair.
The rice was so-so.
Also bought Sapporo Beer from there. The last time when we were holidaying in Japan, we drank some Sapporo Beer somewhere. It was very very smooth. So we tried a little at the fair, taste pretty good. So bought 1 pack of 6 cans. About $17 bucks, I think it's pretty alright.

Then after visiting my father, came back home to do some work.

In the evening, after Karinna went to visit her mom at the EconMedicare, she cooked bee hoon + soup for dinner. Yeah. I have the 爱心晚餐 again! *wink*

But before we have our dinner, we went for a jog. Yes. Healthy lifestyle eh? hehe
Then as usual, she ran until 'up air cannot connect bottom air'. Of course still managed to come back home in one piece lah.

After eating the KB-Style bee hoon, time to do more housechores.

Moral of the story?

Eat 爱心晚餐 got a price to pay one. hahahaha
Just kidding!

Health & Beauty

Yesterday went with Karinna to Thomson Yaohan.

It was a free workshop conducted by Bryan Gan, sharing tips with people on how to make use of aromathery oils to your skin, or to treat some of the problems that people are facing, such as insomnia blahblahblah.

In case you do not know, Bryan was invited to Love97.2 Radio Station pretty often in the last few months by DJ YongMei &
MC King to basically share some of health/beauty tips with the listeners.
Apparently, it was quite well received, and it was then that Bryan created his blog to make his tips available on the internet.

I think the workshop is pretty good. Didn't buy the aromatherapy oils, as Karinna already has almost all of them. :P

One Monkey

Not sure what is happening. Just now I can't specify a "Title" for my new posts.
Then don't know how I anyhow click here and there, then the cursor appear there for me to edit.

Don't care lah.

Anyway, just within a short time, I took a look at my seamonkeys again.
Guess what?

Now I can only see ONE seamonkey swimming around.

The rest disappeared! Not sure why also, but they are just gone!
I can see one of them died though, floating at the top of the water.

See when this ONE monkey can survive until.

Supposed to guarantee to live to 2 years! hehehe

Fried Rice Paradise

Nasi Goreng very nice?
Hmmm. If you know the song 'Fried Rice Paradise', then you are as young as me! hehehe

Of course not referring to that song.

Today Karinna worked from home, so being the nice wife she is (*wink*), she whipped up fried rice as dinner for the hamsom husband. Me lar.

Oooooooooohhhhh. SEDAP!

Simple. Just frying the rice with some char siew and prawns. She likes to put oyster sauce to fry together. Taste good! Eat until I lick my plate dry!
Hmmm. I mean my dogs can lick the plate dry.

Got soup somemore! 苦瓜汤 with 四川菜。 Not bad not bad.

All finished. In my tummy liow. *burp*

That's all you have.

See Monkeys :P

After 5 days of breeding (not mosquito ok!), my seamonkeys are now much bigger, and still very active. Didn't really count how many of them are there, but I guess it's close to 10. Doesn't really matter. :D

So I'll feed them later with the "Growth Food". Thereafter, it's supposed to feed them once every 2 days. Just a small level scoop of food with the spoon provided should be enough.

Actually, the instructions says if the water is still cloud, it meas there's still too much food remains uneaten. Seems like it is still a little cloudy, but nevermind, I'll feed them later, no matter what.

Here's a video for you to see the 'instant life' pets.

Cancer

Had been a little busy. Just a little. Not too much. Too much I cannot take it! haha

Well, finally got back my access to my darn yahoo account.
And when I checked my yahoo-email, I was amazed to see a number of emails from some long-lost classmates!

I was told another classmate of ours Evelyn Teo, had breast cancer, and had intended to shave her head bald on last Sunday (01Jul), to help raise funds for the Children Cancer Foundation. Check the link here:
Hair For Hope
Of course, kinda sad story, and apparently cancer is still such a damn disease. Chemotherapy should have been pretty dreadful, but patients have no choice, but to make themselves survive.
Pledges for Children Cancer Foundation can be made at this website
I didn't get the chance to be there to support her though. Last I met her was maybe 2 years back while I was still working in HP.

Anyway, from what I knew of her, I know she's the type that will fight her way through. She had been the kind of 'vocal' people among the classmates.

Hope she will work harder to fight off the disease, and wish her well! :)

I need to fight off my disease too, the fats on me. :P

Siii Monkeys

Remember the last time I tried rearing the sea-monkeys? And they sort of like didn't appear at all?

Last Friday, while I was walking around Tampines Mall, went into Toys 'R' Us again to look for sea-monkeys.
Bought 2 packs of the packages this time. :D

So I started on Friday night, just before I went to hospital to see my mother.

After 24hrs (actually almost 48 hours this time, coz I was not free), I had just put the 2nd package into the water. After some close examination, we did see some sea-monkeys swimming around.
Kinda cool man!

So for now, it will be just watching them 'grow' a bit before start feeding them with package3 5 days later. :P

We'll see what happen then.
