Perfect Imperfections

The other day I happened to chance upon a new publications call "Good Paper".
It's a free bi-monthly, bi-lingual newspaper that is devoted to only positive side of news.
It also features insipiration stories of ordinary people, and it comes to you free.

It was in that reading, I read something interesting.
I just sort of remember earlier on, and decided to search for it.

It's from this guy who has quite an interesting blog.

I shall not copy and paste that interesting article, but you can read it from this particular entry from this blog.

Interestingly, there's a video which is quite interesting in there too. It's more touching than intesting actually.

While browsing around, I also saw this video from Yasmin Ahmad, who passed away few months back.
It has a very unique way of expressing love.

I guess we're all imperfect anyway.
So to my wife, don't complain so much. hahaha

Hamsom Boy

This afternoon, it another appointment time with our son. :P
Went for the usual check-up, which is now shortened to once per 3 weeks.
It's 30 weeks and 2 days as of today!
Counting down ... ... ... like counting down to 2010 like that. :P

Of course, nothing is better than hearing the doctor says "Good good good".
And the baby is growing very well!
That's the way ah-ha ah-ha! I like it! Ah-ha ah-ha!

Brought our camera there, but I cannot take any picture or video.
Why?
Because my blur blur wife took out the memory card from the camera, and never put it back.
Obviously I didn't know.

Luckily, this time round, the doctor gave a CD and 1 picture.
It is a still picture of the 4D-picture of baby.
The HAMSOM BOY! :D

Actually, I don't know what 4D he was talking about.
At first I thought he was joking about giving us a 4D number to buy.
And then the picture, how 4D is it?
4th-D to me is time dimension, how to see? hehehe

Anyway, he cut 2 videos for us. It's the 4D-view of the baby.
First one he took, was pretty good.

Then he tried to do a second take, but this time round, the video of it is not so great.

Next appointment time would be 2010 already.
See ya in 2010 hamsom boy! ;)

Mom's Birthday

Very long never update my blog already.

Have been busy lately. Doing some crazy project, and make me don't feel like updating the blog most of the time. hehehe
Ok ok. Sometimes it's pure laziness. Or most of the time. :P

Anyway, it's Sunday, and now at the custome site doing some stuff. While waiting for some process to finish, steal a bit of time to update the blog.

My mom's birthday is actually this coming Tuesday. But where got time to celebrate on a weekday right? So we had it yesterday.
My sis ordered a buffet catering, so the food was a little too much for everyone. Lots of food, but not that many people. Sooooo, my tummy gets bloated.
I think I can float ...

Most of us were there, except one of my siblings who is out of country for work, and my nephew Benjamin.

As usual, I was early, and just ate and ate and ate until eating cake.
I don't wanna imagine how much I had eaten also.

See the pictures, and probably may think it's Casper's birthday. Anyway, they loved the cake. I bought it. :P

Back to work ...
*yawn*

Sitex

Today went to Sitex at Singapore Expo.
Reached there about 1050, and the carpark was already quite full.
It's more or less expected, but again, full carparks are always a pain. :P

Mainly because Karinna wants to get a laptop. She has been looking at some options, like Acer Timeline, MacBook, and MSI Wind12.
Since we're there, walked around for quite a while, before settling back to the store that sells what she wanted.

Yep, we bought the MSI Wind12.
It's 12.1" screensize, 4GB Ram, which is pretty cool, and with Pentium SU4100 processor. Comes with 320GB Harddisk, which definitely is too much for her to use. I think. :P
What is good is that it comes with the free 2nd year warranty, although I don't think the system will have much problem within 2 years.
Battery life span is expected to last for 4-5 hours with the 6-cell battery provided.
And it's already pre-installed with Windows 7 Home Premium edition.
Wow.
We bought the black colour.

We also bought a GPS. It's Marbella 550+ 4.3" GPS. Had been looking for one, although not in any urgent need for it. Thought it might be good if we want to drive up to Malaysia in future, then the GPS will probably prove its worth.
But with a $190 price tag, we think it's ok to buy today. :P

Oh well, see the $$$ flying away again ... ...

Growing

Today, it's the appointment with the gynae to check on the baby's progress.

Of course, Zyan has grown a bit more. He's now 660g. Slightly more than twice his weight the previous time.
Doctor says: Very good!
His usual comment. :P

Actually, Karinna hasn't really gained a lot of weight. As long as the baby still grow normally, it doesn't hurt for the mum to not gain too much weight.

I probably gained more weight than them. hahaha

As usual, my little camera keeps some bits of memoir for today's moments and news.

Another 17 weeks to go.
Right here waiting for ya boy!

许冠杰 - 浪子心声 & Drifter's Song

Somehow, I've been thinking and humming this song lately.
Don't know why. Of course, it's a fabulous song, which will always be able to bring lots of memories to people.
Perhaps more importantly, the lyrics of the song is so damn meaningful.

命里有时终须有
命里无时莫强求

Somehow, this video has some sort of translation into English with the lyrics. Interesting.

======================================================

Even more interesting, is that there *IS* an English version of the song!
However, the meaning of the lyrics of both the songs are actually different.
Still, the lyrics of this English version, is not so bad itself too.
Cool.

Zyan

We have been calling our baby Zyan. And most likely, it will be that way. :P

And my resourceful wife found this.

Your First Name of: Zyan

Below is just a brief analysis of the first name only. For an analysis and assessment of your full name, see our Name Report service for further details. Remember to give us your review below. Thank you!

- Zyan as a first name gives you a very independent nature, yet you are friendly, approachable, and generous.

- You can be a spontaneous, expressive, and talkative person.

- Generally you are good-natured, though at times you can be rather blunt and sarcastic.

- This name incorporates creative, artistic, and musical abilities, and there would be an element of originality in all that you do.

- You like to do things on the spur of the moment without planning or prior arrangements.

- Your spirits are buoyed up greatly by encouragement and appreciation.

- Though the name Zyan creates the urge to be creative and original, we stress through a scattered and emotional nature, you suffer frustration.

- This name, when combined with the last name, can frustrate happiness, contentment, and success, as well as cause health weaknesses in the liver, bloodstream, and in tension or accidents to the head.

So fun so fun! :)

Baby Name

Names. Headaches.

The other time, I was blogging about choosing chinese names for my little BabyTay.

I think in the end, for chinese names, we'll check with some other experts.

Meanwhile, the so-called english name also has to be thought of.

Now. What should it be?

We don't want too complicated names, something simple is good.
Like Simple Simon. hahaha

Anyway, a few names came up to my mind.
William
Kenneth
Rayson

I think it's kinda cool to use "Z" as beginning of his name.
Then, "Zyan" comes to mind.
Sort of like a variation from "Ryan".

We both quite like this name.

With that, chinese name can sound close to it, perhaps something like:
郑智贤
郑世贤
郑志贤
郑挚宪

Maybe I'll come up with a table for 2nd and 3rd character, then slowly match.
Then let the expert choose a better one for me. :)

Zyan he shall be!
For now ...

Baby Stuff

Hmmm. Baby is coming.
Oooh. Need to buy more things.
Waah. No enough money. :P

See lah. Ah Boy is coming, then think about it, like so many things need to be bought. Haven't made a list of it yet, so here I try.

1. Baby cot (mattress, pillow ...)
2. Playpen
3. Stroller
4. Pampers
5. Clothings (shirts, pants, socks, and what!?!?!?)
6. Milk bottles
7. Sterilizer
8. Food warmer

The list like never ending, and not in any particular order.
I need more inputs! Argh!

My home has no more space to put things! How!?!?!?!

The Weekend

Weekends have been busy lately.

Saturday, went to Orchard Road. It's been a long time since we go walk walk around Orchard area.
Anyway, we went there to check out some things. Baby stuff.

Before that, went to my chinese chiropratic master to have my bone structures checked. Oh well, this time, it wasn't as painful as the last time I visited him.
Does that mean my body has been adjusting well already? I like to think it that way. :D

Oh yes. We went Orchard.
Went to Robinsons, and then to Takashimaya.
We went to check out prices for some baby stuff, like baby cot, stroller, sterilizers and bottles etc.

Need to get ready for these stuff to be purchased anyway.

After walking to Takashimaya, both of us felt damn tired siah. Age has been catching up on us. Ahhhhhhhhhhh!
So took a rest a Mos Burger, and had a snack meal. It's been ages since we last ate Mos Burger too. hehehehe

Came back home, rest. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

On Sunday, brought Precious to see the vet again, for her medical review.
Although Precious is now able to walk more proper, we can see that she still drag her feet sometimes.
The vet says Precious is about 50% recovered only. Continue to put her on steroid, and gave her some anti-biotics as well.
She's been licking her right-hind leg until it seems to be a little infectious.
At least it's good to see that she's able to run and walk in her new style. :P

Well, I guess this coming weekend is going to be similar. Walking and shopping around for baby stuff, and Precious has another review on Sunday.

How similar huh!?!?!? :P

Pitiful Precious

It had been another hard-to-sleep night yesterday.
Woke up a few times just to take a look at Precious.
See how she's taking it with her injury.

On the surface, she seems to be able to walk more actively herself now. But on closer look, it is also obvious that she cannot control her right-hind leg well yet.
Most of the time she'd be dragging her right foot with her.
She's now like a crippled dog like that.

Amazingly, she still managed to jump up the sofa a few times, although we tried to prevent her from doing so.
It's not easy to get them do their bed-rest, as dogs will be dogs.
Even when somebody walked past our door, and if Precious hears them, she will still run to the door and bark at them.
She simply forgot/ignored her injury.

But at least she appears more active than yesterday, which is a good sign.
Probably she's getting accustomed to three-legged movement.

And on top of her injury, we saw that she had some bloodshot eyes in her left eye.
Have to monitor this as well, and if need to, may have to visit the vet again.
So poor thing right?

Awwww. Poor little Precious.

Our Precious

Yesterday was quite a busy day, sort of.

We had lunch with Karinna's group of friends. It was at Tung Lok Restaurant at Paramount Hotel.
It was a little harder to find, but the food is generally ok.
We had Dim Sum for lunch, and had a Peking Duck.
Yum yum.

Of course, they will chat chat chat like don't know what, and by the time we left the place, it was like 3pm.
Hmmmm. Talkative huh? :P

After that, we drove down to Lok Yang Avenue, the other end of Singapore at Tuas area. Damn far.
There was a Toy Warehouse Sale, so we went to to see if can find any suitable things (not toys) for our coming little boy.
Well, it was quite an unfruitful trip there. The only thing fruitful is that we roughly know the price of some of the things we probably will need to buy soon.

Then, we went down to Kaki Bukit, to check out more baby stores.
Saw some baby cots, strollers, sterilizers etc. Need to take note of some of these so that we can do some purchases when there's sales going on somewhere.

Reached home at about 7.15pm, my sisters came over to my home to play mahjong with my monther-in-law. I didn't even know they were coming. hahaha
And we went home just to get 2 bottles of red wine, as we're going out to a BBQ somewhere at Changi. More specifically, it's the SAFRA Country Club.
Karinna's colleague was having a birthday celebration there.

We reached there about 8pm, took some BBQ food. Rather ok, the home-made curry was nice. And then people started playing mahjong as well.
We didn't play initially, but some kakis need to leave for home, so we took over the seats for a while.
In the end, lost some money. You win some, you lose some.
Just that I usually lose more. :P

By the time we reached home, it was like past midnight.
Bathed and then watched TV, as Karinna waited for her bird nest to be ready for consumption.

It was around 1am or so, our little Precious jumped off the sofa, and then we realised something was wrong with her right-hind leg.
It was pretty stiff, and she was limping as she walked off!

Alamak! Si mi dai ji?!?!?!!?

Then I carried her to the sofa, and layed her down. Checked here checked there checked everywhere, her legs seem ok to me, I don't feel anything weird with it, nor did she yelp for pain or anything.
Massaged a while for her as well.
Still, limping as I put her down on the floor.

No choice, put them into their sleeping area, and then decided to bring her to the Vet in the morning.

Somehow, Karinna cried as we were going to our bed.
*sob sob*
She had quite a bad night, trying to check internet for Vets' place. We placed the dogs in our room for the night, and we know that our Precious was very uncomfortable.

So morning came, checked and called a few Vets. Most places are closed.
In the end, found one which is opened on Sunday, and appears to have pretty good reviews from some forums in the internet.

So we called, and went for the earliest appointment.

The Vet checked and checked and checked, and also did an X-ray for Precious. In the end, the conclusion is that there is no fracture, nothing appears to be wrong with the bones etc.
A likely cause would be the soft tissues of the nerves, which would not be captured from the X-ray films.
Possile to have some swollen tissues around the spine area that causes her to loose her motor skills on that leg.

Need to monitor her, and was advised not to let Precious did high impact activities like jumping or standing on her hind legs.
But they are dogs, how to bed-rest them right? Hmmmm. That's a hard thing to do.

She was also perscribed some steroids, but if the situation were to worsen, may need to do a quick MRI scan to see if need any surgery to be done.
What a frightening thought huh?

Precious, be good, and be strong, and then walk properly again!

Our Boy

This morning, went for the check-up with Dr Chang.

This time, there are many things for him to check.
As he checked and told us about this and that, and that and this. Actually, catch no ball.
Only thing that registered well enough is: Good. Good. Good! Very well!

Obviously, that's great music to our ears. :)

And of course, the other information that we could register better is, the baby is 321grams today. :P
Can buy 4D lor!

Well, look at the mommy. Does she look like a mom-to-be?
Beautiful gorgeous mommy! *wink wink*

Actually, when I was trying to take a video of the scan, the doctor told me no need to do so, as they would give us the pictures.
Yeah. But I was taking photo Doc! :P

Took a long time for it to be uploaded. :D

Something To Share

Can't help feeling touched watching it.

For a friend who's undergoing chemo.
Evelyn, press on!

胡杨林 - 香水有毒

Today, I heard this song again.
I always keep forgetting the title of the song. But this time, I remembered.
It's one of those songs that, once you listen, you must love it.
I do.

Ah Boy

Ah boy ah

Daddy and mommy coming to see you again tomorrow.
So exciting ... :P

Time to charge my camera battery. :)

邓丽君 - 但人愿长久

中秋节快乐!

好歌! 好词!

苏轼的《水调歌头》。 好美!
邓丽君的版本。好听!

Here's a 'translation' of the lyrics in English.

Car Service

Went to service the car the other day. It's time for the 60,000km servicing.
It's sort of a major haul of service, and I've no more complimentary services available for my car.

In the end, signed up for the 4-service package, that cost me like $900 over bucks.
*ouch ouch*
Can you hear my heart?? :P

Then the inspector told me my tyres need to change as well.
Well, that is true. It's been 3 years, and I had wanted to change it some time back, just never really get to do so.
*ouch ouch*
There goes another $400 or so.

A-dui!

Nissan! Can you provide better pricing!?!?!?

Plumbing

Yesterday came back home, and I was told the dish washing basin area, the water cannot flow down. It 'floods' when we have running water down the basin.

Alamak! Headache!

So today called a plumber to drop by.
Supposed to come around 1pm, but never did until about close to 4pm.
Wah piang, so far off from the estimated time given, might as well don't give me a timing.

Anyway, he came, checked checked, and said.
Need to pump the drain to clear the chokage, need to change some of the existing PVC pipes, need to put more gums to hold the pipes better blahblahblah.
It will cost $290.

Erh.
Do I have a choice?

So let the expert do the work, I can only stare in amazement how fast they can do the job. hehehe

WIthin half an hour or so, it's done!

Sounds like good money isn't it?

And no, I am not thinking of switching line ... :P

Oh Boy Oh Boy !!!

Yesterday morning, went to see Dr Chang again. It's the 4th visit this time.
So by simple calculation, it's roughly the 4th month. :D

Other than Karinna hasn't really gained weight yet, which is still ok for now, we didn't have much to tell the doctor about the status. Everything is normal. Norm is a good thing here.

As usual, the ultrascan. Of course, I didn't forget about my camera. :)

Today's scan was interesting. Why?
Because we get to know the gender of the baby.

Oh Boy! Oh Boy!
How exciting!!!!!
It's a boy! It's a son for us!
Wow wow wee wee wow wee wee!

Actually, to us, whether it's a boy or girl doesn't really matter. Really.
If it is a boy, I'll beat. If it is a girl, I'll also beat! :P

Again, doctor said everything is good and normal, normal and good. The progress looks perfect!
A 4-week-break visit always mean a good sign.

So next appointment is in October. By then, the doctor said will let us know the weight of the baby.
It's really amazing with how technology has advanced.

So at the end of the appointment, called up my friend Cecilia at TMC. She said they had this new package coming up, and would like to share with me.
It's sort of a package to help new parents cope with arrival of new born, and the planning can stretch from pre-conceptual even, to the usual classes for parents, products for babies and mummies, and post-delivery activities.
Even getting confinement lady for you can be an optional service provided.

Looks ok at first glance, but will need to check out more to see if we really need it.

That's all for my boy today. :)

Sleepy Weekend

Since back from holiday, I knew I will fall sick, as I had sort of 'groggy' feeling since then.
No fever. A bit of sore throat, and no major coughing.

Was still ok in the early part of last week.
Only last Thursday and Friday, it was a little bit worse, but still endurable.

So I went to see doctor on Saturday.
Confirmed not H1N1, or any of the flu virus.

Doctor gave me antibiotics, some painkillers for the giddiness, and cough syrup.
Boy, the cough syrup is potent.

Drink already, the eyes very hard to keep them open.
In the end, had quite a good nap on Saturday afternoon.

Likewise, Sunday morning, after taking the cough syrup, the Zzzzzzzzzzz monster came to visit me around noon.
Took an hour nap before going to Karinna's friend's place.

It's a darn huge place. Must have been a few millions. Anyway, shall not talk much for the house.
Let it be our dream ... ... ...

Again, last night, can't seem to post entry. I suspect it only happens when I am home, but occasionally, I can still do so at home.
That puzzles me. Since blogging is not an important thing, so heck it!

This morning, I didn't take the cough syrup.
Dangerous. Leave it for the night better, then I can sleep like a baby ...
*wink*

Detoxing ...

I started my detox products yesterday.

I have 4 different items.
Items C/B/A/D (left to right in picture)

A/B/C is to be taken before breakfast and before dinner.
D is before lunch, and before Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

For A/B/C, the procedure is like this.
Pour C into the given container until the C-mark.
Add warm water till A-mark.
Scoop a tablespoon of A pour into the container.
Shake the container for about 4 times, and drink immediately, because it can turn into gel-like very fast.

YUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!
*ptui ptui ptui*
Like eating algae like that (not that I know how algae taste like)
It's so damn awful!
Wah piang... nearly died

10 minutes later, need to take B
B is simpler, just pour water into B-mark, and then add 1 tablespoon of B, and then stir it. Drink it.

OOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooooooooooohhh
*PTUI PTUI PTUI*
I also dunno how to describe the taste.

Detox with A/B/C is quite a torture. :P

D is much simpler. It's just 2 sachets of the thing, pour into water, and then drink. Easy.
Doesn't taste nice as well, it's not very very awful, but it doesn't taste good.

These few days, the advice is not to take meat.
I assumed fish is not classified under meat, so I still eat some fish.
Actually, I didn't restrain meat-taking, just very little of it.

Hmmm...
How long more can I tahan with this ...

HongKong-20090831

It’s the last day of our tour.

We decided to pack our things ready, check-out, and then dumped our luggage with the bell service, and then went off for the rest of the day until time for airport.

We went again to Causeway Bay, because my Karinna wants to eat some food there. We ended up at a porridge stall, the same one we went the last time we were here in HK. The food there is good actually, and they have this chee cheong fun with you char kueh in it.

After our brunch, we walked around the shopping centres there before making our way to The Peak.
Took the train to Central station, walked to the tram station.
Was a little surprised that there are charges now for the tram ride. My memory seems to remember that the tram rides up to the peak were free.
Maybe times have changes, and they want to make more profit from it.
Since we were there already, we just went ahead with it.
I guess maybe it's the afternoon time that we were there, the view was not particular great. Still nice, but without the night lights.
With night lights and cool breeze, it's normally better.
Also, the city was somehow a little more hazy than we expected, so there are parts that were sort of 'blurry'.

We took the tram down just before 3pm. From there, walked towards Lan Kwai Fong, and to this street called Wellington Street.
Why? Food! :P

Walked to this place called Mak's Restaurant, which supposedly serve very nice Won Ton Noodle. We ordered 1 won ton mee, and 1 shrimp dumpling noodle. At the end of our meal, we ordered another dish, which is the tender beef meat and tendon.
Wow! The beef is delicious!

With the meal, we went back to our hotel to take our luggage. Dragged our luggage to take the free shuttle to Kowloon station, and then bought the train ticket to the Airport.

HongKong-20090830

It was raining in the morning, and then drizzle as well. When it stopped, the sun started shining bright, and in a short while, there seemed to be no trace of any rain on the floor!
By the time we got out of our hotel at about 9am, the roads were like dry!
This morning, we decided to go to Lantau Island, to the Po Lin Monastry to eat vegetarian meal.

We took the MTR there. This time, there were some new lines around HK, and we went to this Austin station, which is a shorter route to change to the MTR that brings us to Tung Chung. Tung Chung is last stop in Lantau Island, and the place to go to Po Lin Monastry.
We were hoping to catch the newer cable car transport, but it was not in operation today, probably due to some maintenance. So with such luck, we had to resort to the traditional bus, which will drive around the mountains, and up towards the Monastry.
Of course, we bought the ticket for the vegetarian meal. 2 of us, we had 1 big bowl of soup, 4 different dishes, and another big pot of rice. Of course we never finish the rice lah, not crazy ok! :P

There seemed to be a lot of changes at Po Lin Monastry, and they are enhancing more parts of the place there. And with the cable car, there is a new place shopping place up there. On the whole, it is quite a nice place to pass your time doing nothing much there.

Resting is the key.
We left the place after that, walked around the shopping place at Tung Chung MTR station. It’s a place where it’s full of special outlets of different brands. There’s Coach, Burberry, Espirit, just to name a few.

Then took the train back to Jordan. Bought some stuff for my mother-in-law before going back to hotel to rest for a while. Think somehow our legs were tired quite easily, took lots of rest here and there before moving to next place. Hehehe
Symptoms of older age? :P

Back at the hotel, hitching onto the free wireless government internet. However, the reception for it is pretty poor, don’t get to have a smooth access most of the time, and it tends to lose connection quite often as well.
As long as it allows me to do some blogging, still ok lah.
Nowadays, I am used to typing my blog content in a text file first, so that it’s easier to cut-and-paste to do the entry. Hehehe

After Karinna took her nap, we went out for our dinner. Went to Mong Kok this time, and just popped into a traditional HK restaurant. Karinna wanted to eat roasted goose drumstick, so ordered one. I just had an ordinary double meat rice, which consists of roasted pork and chicken.

After that, it’s just strolling around the place before going back to hotel.
Weather is very hot, so staying in the hotel is not too bad an idea.

Tonight is the last night in HK. Tomorrow will be going back to Singapore, and life will be back to normal again.

HongKong-20090829

Although didn’t want to wake up early, but somehow, we still woke up like 7+am.

Took our breakfast at a nearby food stall. Not nice. Karinna had porridge, and I took Won Ton Mee.
The only saving grace is the won ton, like most of the won tons we had in HK before, pretty good.

We went to the MTR station, took the train to Admiralty station. I remember we took a bus from that location to Stanley Market before. This time, when we came out of the station, the previous interchange which I remembered is no longer the same. More buses go from there to Ocean Park.
Asked a local before we found the bus stop. Took bus number 6X, and it went pass Repulse Bay before reaching Stanley. The only think we remember about Stanley, is that the last time that we went there, it was like ‘closed’. Damn suay.

This time, we’re lucky. It’s an alive and kicking place. Weather was very hot though. Was contemplating whether to have our lunch there, then we decided no. We’ll go to some place which Karinna printed out for “Typhoon Shelter Crab” at Causeway Bay.
We took bus number 6 back, which is the non-express version. It took a longer route, and went through the winding place in that area. We both also fell asleep along the way.

Managed to wake up from the snooze around Wan Chai, then took the MTR to Causeway Bay.
Found the place, and we ordered the crab, and Crab Oil Fried Noodle. The crab is pretty spicy, and we only ordered the ‘medium spicy’ version. We think the food is over-rated, but it’s interesting to try another way of crab cooking.

After our lunch, walked around Sogo, then decided to go back hotel to rest. Don’t know why, both of us were tired. Actually, it’s more of legs aching rather than tired. Maybe the other day walked too much, then the pain slowly appearing. Hahaha

Took a nap, bought dinner, then simply waste time away in hotel room. Enjoying the interesting view from our hotel room. :)

Macau/HongKong-20090828

This morning, we went to Senado Square again. No special reason, just no idea where else to go. hehehe
And, another reason to go there is to buy some food products back home. Some sort of almond biscuits, and it's actuall quite nice.

While we were there, we had our breakfast at McDonald. Yes. You read it right. McDonald!
Apparently, lots of old folks have their breakfast there as well. They had this soup macaroni meal, that comes along with a beef pattie and coffee. All these for about S$4.00. We had one of those for Karinna, and I took the big breakfast meal, also about S$4.00

Then we went back to our hotel. Did a final pack-up, and just leave it ready to take-and-go. Then we went down to our hotel's small casino to look around and play a bit. Played some jackpot before we checked out of the place.
Of course, didn't win, but spent less than S$10.00 to pass time for about an hour. Not bad.

Then we took the shuttle to the ferry terminal, bought the tickets to HK, and proceeded to the departure gate. Somehow, we were 'rushed' to the ferry although we're 1/2 hr early for our ferry.
Guess what, they 'rushed' us into the 1330hrs ferry when we'd booked for the 1400hrs ferry. Sigh.
OK. Still manageable, just didn't want Karinna to be too tired from all these rushing.

Actually, our HK hotel is very near the ferry terminal, probably about 5 mins walk. But we still took a taxi from there, because of our luggage, and lazy to walk with bulky items around.
Checked into the hotel.
B P International.
WOW. I think we had an upgrade for the room as well. I didn't book for Garden or Harbour view, but our room an a lookout to the harbour, and the garden is just right out of our window!

HK hotels are known to be small, so ours is also pretty small. Nothing comparable in size to the one at Macau.

We just walked around the place. Temple street is just 2 streets away. More importantly, went to the MTR to see how we can work out our transportation for the next 3 days. We decided to use the normal card, and then claim back the deposit/balance when we're back to the airport.

Then walked around again, but Karinna felt tired already.
So just made our way back to the hotel for an earlier rest.

Macau-20090827

It was quite a tiring day for us yesterday, so we both had a good night sleep, and waking up fresh. :)

First, we just visited the hotel's casino. Very small one, and we took a little of the food available there as our breakfast.

First, we went to Lisboa. Pretty nice deco.
I wasn't lucky. My shoes disintegrated, and Karinna laughed so hard until she teared.
ka na sai right? hehehe
Just loitered around the place for a while before we head out to our next destination.

Then we headed our way to Hac Sa, which is right at bottom of the whole Macau.
Took bus again, fun!
Went there to eat actually. Some famous Portuguese food there appeared on some of the Macau guidebook.
We reached there at around 12 noon, the place wasn't opened yet, and there's a queue waiting for its opening ceremony. Feels like a nice food place.

We ordered quite a bit.

The food is simply yummilicious!

Then we took bus back to Lisboa area. Wynn and MGM Grand are also around that place.
We walked around Wynn and MGM. Very nice places.

Then we decided to go back and rest for a while, and let me changed to my sandals.
Moving around with disintegrated shoes is not really an enjoyable thing.

Our next stop, Venetian.
Took the free shuttle there.
It's really grand, and played a bit of jackpot there too.
The theme and deco is somewhat similar to that in Las Vegas. They also have the same gondola thing in Macau. And the same fake sky.

We left around 8+/9, hop onto the shuttle to Sands, another of the iconic ones to visit.
Just as huge! They have like 4 levels of casino! Crazy!
And it's crowded as well.
There was some live-singing show when we were there.

We left around 10+pm. Karinna was tired already, so need to rest.

Well, that almost bring the end of Macau trip itself for us.
Hong Kong, wait for me. Tomorrow.

Macau-20090826

Yesterday wanted to put an entry in the blog, but somehow, the 'Error on page' problem appeared again.

I'm not bothered to make effort to eliminate that problem, just live with it first.

Today, woke up damn early at 3am. Our flight to Hong Kong is at 6.40am, and as a practice, better be at airport 2hours before flight time. So must wake up early to make sure don't miss the flight. :P

We reached HK about 1020hrs, and realised there's a ferry transfer service from the airport to Macau directly.
Cool!
This way, we saved the trip to HK Kowloon, then take the ferry from there to Macau.

Only thing is that, the next ferry time slot is at 1245hrs. Not so bad lah, by the time take the express train to the city, then to Macau, probably will also result in about the same time.

We reached Macau at 1.30pm. Managed to catch the free shuttle service from the ferry terminal to our designated hotel.
Casa Real Hotel.
And we got a free upgrade to Deluxe room. I like. No. We like. :)

Room was not exactly ready then, so we put our luggage at their storage, and headed towards Senado Square.
We took a bus there. Kinda fun to take bus in foreign land.

From Senado Square, the main thing for me is to see that Ruins of St Paul.
Pretty interesting walk towards the place.

Some pictures here taken today.

Then we decided to take another trail walk as recommended by some books.
Thus, we walked back to Senado Square, and made our way to Ah-Ma Temple.
This was a much longer walk, and walk until we damn tired.

The walk is pretty interesting as well, mixture of buildings of Chinese and possibly Portugal flavour.
Walked for almost half an hour or so, and finally reached the temple.

Karinna said there is supposed to be some huge Guan-Yin statue on top, so we climbed up.
Climb and climb and climb, until cannot go up anymore.
No statue leh. hehehe
Gave up, then just walked down and looked around.

Took another bus back, actually, more like anyhow take bus, which brought us back to ferry terminal again.
Then it's free shuttle back to hotel. :)

Ate around the hotel area, as we both quite tired from the walk, as well as lack of sleep. :P

Great to have internet access, thus, this little entry.

The Ba-Zhang Story

I was very angry today. At least in the morning.

My mom called me around 10+, complaining to me that my father didn't bother to help her.
Story is, she had to do something at a cruise, which she had asked a friend to go with her. That friend apparently needed to go as well.
Otherwise, they will be fined for not being there. Don't ask why on this. :P

This friend, mends a stall that sells ba-zhang or something, at don't know what place also. So in order to get her to go, my mom volunteered my father to go and mend the stall.
erh... hello?!??! crazy idea, as my dad is old, and not suitable to do such things.

Anyway, my father went, and somehow, after some talking with the friend, he said he was asked to go home.

So my mom got angry, said my father put her in a lurch, and make her lose face, and blahblahblahblahblahblah. My ears cannot tahan also.
She wanted me to persuade my father to stay there to help.
Actually, don't think my parents listen to me, but they always think they the other party listens to me!

OK OK!
Called my father, and he like nonchalant about the whole thing, and going back home.

Then my mother called. Complain complain complain! And like want to 杀人放火 like that. To appease her, I even said I go and mend the stall!!!
Wah piang! Terok right?!?!?!?
sio-ba-zhang! ahhh! sio-ba-zhang!!! buey sio-ba-zhang!

In the end, the old man still went home, the old woman cried complaining.
I had to call my sister to call the old woman to appease her a bit as well.

The whole episode is a joke.
1. My mother shouldn't volunteered my father. He's never been helpful anyway.
2. My father is old and weak, mending a stall will probably make him more 气喘.
3. My father should not have gone there in the first place. Go already and don't help is really a pain in the ass. Make things worse.
4. And why that lady has no other friend to help her? Damn!

In the end, to make sure things are ok, I drove back to check on my mother. By the time I reached there, she had left for the ferry.

Then I wanted to make my way to my father, but damn heng!
My car battery died on me!
Cannot start my car, and stucked at the place for half an hour before help came along. Sigh.
When you're suay, it doesn't come just once!
@#!%^$^&$%@#$^&$^%&*(^&$%#@$%#&^%

When my car was revived, just went to make sure things at my father side still ok.
In the end, he's not home yet when I reached there.

A totally wasted trip, but at least things appear to be normal.
Good.

Well, I guess this won't be the last. :P
Sigh
It's true that old people are like kids ... ... ...

BabyTay

26 June 2009
On the day before, 25 June, Karinna did a “Clearblue” test. Result was positive. Very excited.

Went to see Mr Chan on 26th June, the Chinese physician at Marine Parade.
He more or less hinted the positive pregnancy for Karinna, and prescribe some medical herbs that is good for the foetus.

02 July 2009
Went to Thomson Medical Centre to see Dr TC Chang.
Karinna sourced him from the website, somehow.
After telling him the possibility of pregnancy, and giving him some details of Karinna’s condition (she just did a medical checkup very recently), the doctor did an ultrascan.
Yahoo!
We saw the little egg in there!
It’s about 11mm by 9mm in size.

And it’s about 5½ weeks by estimation so far. A more accurate estimation is possible at the next visit, which is 2 weeks from now!
C@@L!
It’s very exciting, to know a little Simon/Karinna is coming along soon!

10 July 2009
Have been thinking a little about the names for the baby. Need to prepare 2 names, 1 for a boy, another for a girl, so whichever gender it is, the name can be ready! Cool huh!?!

13 July 2009
Booked air tickets for Hong Kong from 26 Aug to 31 Aug, which covers Karinna’s birthday as well. According to Karinna, travelling is ok during trimester 2, so that time should be ok for her.
After that, it should basically be waiting for the baby to arrive, the Little Tay.
Anyway, planning to stay 2 nights in Macau and 3 nights in Hong Kong. Have to start booking for the hotel accommodation too.

16 July 2009
Today is the second time we see Dr Chang.
Again, a scan was done to see the baby. The baby has grown, it’s about 1.27cm today!
More interestingly, today is to check the heartbeat for the baby. We thought we would be ‘hearing’ the heartbeat, but no, we were SEEING the heartbeat. Cool huh!
So the baby has grown to a size that is expected by the gynaecologist, and the current EDD is like 28 Feb 2010!
So we are happy to hear that!

08 Aug 2009
Went to see our Head of Fertility, just to be a little kiasu, to hear from our benefactor himself.
Again, it’s all good, and he prescribed some herbs to be boiled around the 13-14th week.

13 Aug 2009
Today is the 3rd appointment date with Dr Chang.
As usual, ultrascan is done, and it’s about 4.95cm now!
Interestingly, can see his nasal bone, and this time can hear his heartbeat! Think it was beating at 159/min!
No horse run man!

I know the video is kinda boring to all, but to me, it is a different story. :)
A few more pictures, courtesy of the clinic. Paid of course! :P

Then with this visit, there’s a test to be done for Down Syndrome.
The physical check reveals a good chance for normality. A test blood was also done to have a more affirmative result, which shall be known by tomorrow.
All the readings were showing along the normal zone, so everything is good again. Yeah yeah yeah!

14 Aug 2009
The clinic didn't call to tell us the result. We called back but was told not out yet. Rather, doctor hasn't seen it yet. How interesting. Nevermind. Wait.

In the end, they called.
All is good.
YEAH YEAH YEAH!

Botanic Gardens

This morning, we went to Singapore Botanic Gardens.
Met up with Karinna's colleague Matthew and his wife and his little girl, and his niece, sister-in-law and mother-in-law. Big group hor. :P

Mainly to let his daughter Megan 'play' with the dog. :P
So we brought our 2 notty dogs to the park.

Reached there close to 10am. It was crowded, had to wait for a while before gaining entry to the carpark.
But I guess once in a while going to Botanic Gardens can be quite a nice thing to do.
The air is fresher, and lots of greens. Good for the eyes.

A group of people practising their Taiji.

The small naughty one with Karinna.

Short video of Sapphire making noises.

There was slight drizzle for a while, so went back into the main shelter. Was a littelr dark there.
While in there, trying to coax/con the kids into touching the dogs. Took a while, but in the end, still managed to get them to tickle the dogs. hehehe

Megan with her grandmother.

On the walk back to the amphi-theatre area.

We left earlier than Matthew's family. By the time, I think our dogs were all too tired also.
In the car, all like dead dogs like that. hehehe

Any outing is a joy to them. :)

Detox

Funny, had problem creating an entry yesterday again. Anyway.

Yesterday, went to the 推拿 again. Went there about 4+, just before it closes at 5pm. :P

This time, the pain is much less acute.
When he rubbed his palm on my shin, it's not as bad as the previous time.
Still pain, just bearable.
Even when he pressed my neck area, the pain is still endurable.
No pain no gain!
No problem!

Still, my tilted neck/head is a chronic thing, which he said he has this time, adjusted my bone a little more in-depth.
I think a lot seems to attribute to my habit now also lah.
Sigh.

But the comments are the same.
Too much wind in the body, blockages along my back spine etc.

So with all the crack-crack-crack, he had unblocked some of those.
Supposed to feel lighter, but I so heavy! :P

This time round, I bought the detox stuff.

3 items (on the left) to help colon cleansing.
Supposed to drink these stuff in the morning with empty stomach, and then do the same before dinner, or before bedtime.

Another item (yellow box) for detoxifying granulates. Don't know what the hell is that also, but I understood it as meant to tone down the 热气 in me.

Need to keep off meat while doing these detox stuff.
When should I start? :P

Casper 2nd Birthday

Today is our National Day.
Happy National Day to all.

It's also my little nephew's birthday.
He's 2 years old today. Time flies.

My brother booked a chalet at Pasir Ris Coasta Sand Resort, and had a BBQ there.
Weather was ok, except for a short very slight drizzle in the middle of our BBQ-ing.

All were there except for my brother and his family, as he's not in town this week.

Most of the food were catered, except my mum cooked some (actually, A LOT) fried rice, and bee hoon as additional stuff.
Need to make sure some food is available when the BBQ starts. :P

And this time round, the fried rice and bee hoon didn't taste very nice, although still ok for me.

As for BBQ, the usual chicken wings (I didn't eat any), prawns, chicken chop, some satays, lots of sausages, fishball, blahblahblah until I don't know what is there also.

Come to think of it, the main thing I ate was the fried rice.

No specific person was doing the BBQ-ing. In the end, it's my brother-in-law Frankie who did the most cooking.
My other sister Kelly, and her husband Eng Hong also put in their best effort to serve out the food.

My other brother-in-law, think drank a few red wine already a bit high. Keep bringing me around to take pictures for him and other family members.
hahaha

What didn't happen was, my nieces and nephews said want to do the Pledge Moment at 8.22pm, all failed to do so!
Aiyoyo! How can? :P

Some pictures taken can be viewed here, which were uploaded into my Facebook.
Benjamin said must tag wor, so I have to go to each picture that has his toot-toot face, and put a tag.
Maybe I should have tagged him as "Toot-boy". hehehe

Sheer Elegance - Life Is Too Short Girl

Long long time ago, there was only a few radio stations in Singapore.
There were mainly 1 English and 1 Chinese radio stations.

Then in late 80s, 98.7, 95.0, 93.3 and blahblahblah came along.

As the youngster then, I tuned in to 98.7 and 93.3 for the most current songs.
As years go bym I 'promoted' myself to 95.0 and 97.2 for more of the older songs.
I've stopped 95.0

Now, for the English station, I tuned to Gold FM90.5
Oldies but goodies, and the goonies are not enuff. :P

Here's a cool one.

推拿

Yesterday afternoon, I went to do a massage.
Actually, it's more of a tui-na, rather than massage.

It's at Orchard Plaza. Yeah. First thing come to the mind, it's sleazy huh? :P
Anyway, afternoon time can't be that sleazy.

I walked in, no other customer there.
So the shi-fu do for me although I didn't call to make appointment.
I told him I occassionally have some serious backpain, some had some knee pain problem few weeks back.
And also more importantly, my head/neck has been 'tilted' towards my left for many years, and if there's any possibility to adjust back to normal.

He said possible wor. hmmmm.

He has a table for customer to lie down. There's a hole for the face to be placed at when lying face down.
He started with checking the backbone. My upper back was ok, lower back, think he said the 3rd-to-5th disc (not sure if the name is right) area is not so good.
Hmmmmmmmmmmm. HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
Then he sort of pinch my back all over, and hell it was damn painful!
A-dui!!!!!!!!! @$##%@$^%#%^#$#^%$

Small ordeal over.

Then he worked on my shin area.
He rubbed gently on my left shin.
*WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH*
Pain ah!
My 男人的眼泪 almost 掉出来!
Then come to my right shin, he said it is more painful, as it had more wind than the left shin.
HUH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?!?!??
Die siah! What to do?

Then he worked on my head/neck. Twisted my neck sideways, and crack crack crack! Damn shiok ok.
Then don't which acupoint he pressed on my neck/shoulder area.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
Press until all the saliva in me ma jiam like oozes out like that. Think my face must have been cringing like mad.
Both sides also pain like hell.
It's the kind of feeling like 生不如死. :O
Terok ok!

Then he went on further to crack a few sounds for my back, and that's it.

Basically, I have too much wind inside my body. Lots of blockage here and there, and he had so-called unblock them wherever possible.
Actually not so bad, I do feel a little 'lighter', as in not as stiff as how I used to feel about my body.
Also need to eat less meat, and more vegetables, and should eat only until 70% full for each meal.
Hmmm. Some things can be hard to do. :P

In the end, he also tried to sell some detoxing stuff.
I didn't buy them, but I think the next time I visit him again, I would try the detox stuff.

Babies

Since I got my new printer/scanner/copier, I took out some old photos to scan.

And these are the scans I did yesterday night, for fun too!
No prize for guessing who is the guy.
Who is the little baby that I am carrying? hehehe
See below for the answers.

Right on top, it's Deon, then comes down to Pauline, and lastly, it's Brenda!

Of course, I was still quite skinny back then. Hamsom right?
hahaha
And see the spectacles I am wearing, it's the same one!
So big so obiang eh??
Still hamsom lah. :)

Samsung SCX-4300

My HP printer has been making lots of noise every time I try using it.
Actually, didn't use it for printing anymore because I believe the ink has been dried up. That's the problem with inkjet stuff.

Today, went to Sim Lim to get a printer. Had been looking for one since few weeks back.
It is time to get a new one.
I was considering possibly a laser printer. Not necessary for colour printing though.
How often do I really print in colours anyway?
And laser printing looks more professional right?

The cheapest around has to be Samsung SCX-4300.
It's sleek black, looks cool.

The price is not bad, $180 for cash-and-carry.

Basically, need it to print, and able to do scanning and copying, that is all I need. Fax function is not high on my list. :P

Need to do more scanning, need to dig old pictures to scan as digital format too.
It's gonna take a lot of time.
Hmmmm. How? Headache. Help!

New CDs!

Yesterday evening, went to walk Tampines Central with Karinna after dinner.
It's definitely a better time to be at Tampines Mall or Century Square or Tampines One, as compared to weekends. :D

Actually, I had wanted to buy some CDs. I haven't bought CDs for the longest time yeah.

Went to the shops around the Interchange first. Didn't really have much to look around.
Then we headed towards Century Square. Bought some soya ice cream for Karinna, then walked around the place for a while.
Not much of CD shop for me to see also. :P

Then went to Tampines Mall. Ahhh... The music CD shop at level 4 has closed shop. I mean it is no longer there anymore.
Oh well. Some guys have all the luck!

Fret not! There's Popular at level 3!
So went there. Karinna went to browse some books, I went for the CDs.

These are my hunts:

Clockwise:
On the top left, its "Treasures" by Richard Clayderman. Hasn't heard his piano playing for a long time. It comes with 3 CDs, so I guess it's quite a good buy.
On the top right, that's "Smash Hits", a 3-CD compilation of definitive sounds of the 80s. Cool. I like.
On the bottom right, it's "80s Dance", another 2-CD compilation of the 80s pop dance music. Don't really know why I bought it, probably it's not that expensive I guess. 15 bucks.
On the bottom left, it's "你还有个我", a music compilation by Funkie Monkies who basically were involved in music and songs for the movie "881". This particular CD is a little more meaningful, as the royalties collected will go towards Down Syndrome Association (Singapore) to help them with their living.
This is the CD that I had wanted to buy. The rest were by-products. :P

Well, too many choices now.
Don't know which one to start listening.
heh heh heh

PS: Had problem with making new post yesterday, so dumped this in today.

Twelve Days of Meditation

Today, we started a course on meditation, at Hwa Chong Institution.

Strictly speaking, it should not be considered meditation. It is more to use some techniques to enable the use of the energy within our body to make us healthier, to put it simply.

It's called 真气运行学.
It's supposed founded by Professor 李少波教授.
Not that I know who he is or what. :D

And this course is conducted from 1930 to 2230 starting from today for consecutive 12 days!
Including Sat/Sun too!

So for these 12 days, timing is pretty tight, and by the time reach home, it's like already 11pm!

So what we learnt today?

Today, we learn to breathe.
Yes.
Breathe, and concentrate on a spot area about 1 inch below your heart, and concentrate on that area when breathing out.

Supposedly to feel 'something'.

I think I am always slow to feel things, so didn't feel much, except a little stuffy around that area.
Once you felt that 'something', you are somewhere 'promoted' to next level.

Hehehe. Only Karinna gets it, the green belt.
I'm still yellow belt.

Maybe tomorrow ... ...

Will Writing

Yesterday, I nearly died.

As I was driving out from my office carpark, I was looking out for cars coming from my adjacent angles.
There is a traffic light near the exit of the carpark.

On my way out, the view on my right on-coming vehical was blocked by a truck parking along the side of the road.
As I saw the traffic lights were red for my adjacent vehicles, I drove out towards the opposite side of the road.

Just as I moved out, one HUGE truck (those that carry the container type, smaller) was coming towards me from the right!
He wanted to beat the traffic light.
DAMN IDIOT.
But luckily, he still had time to stop, otherwise, I may become a prata on the road. :P

Ironically, or coincidentally, whatever you may like to call, I was driving to pick Karinna to attend a talk on "Will Writing".

Hah! How interesting huh?!?

Well, the talk on "Will Writing" was pretty interesting.

We know it is good and important to make a will, but usually procrastinate till you never know when to do it.
Such talk will always make you think of wanting to do it, and then sometimes, you forget again ... ...

The only thing is, a simple will is never going to make it easy for the will to be implemented correctly, and accordingly.
Complicated will is going to make your head big big until you feel like tearing the will apart.

To will or not to will, that is, whose question? :P

LCCT

On the day when I went KL, I was disappointed that I arrived at LCCT. Probably stands for Low Cost Carrier Terminal? Not sure.
I was hoping to take the train from KLIA to KL City, but alas, a mistake on my part in choosing the airline without looking carefully, resulted in that.
Dumb dumb!

Was walking around the place a bit, and saw this couple talking. Didn't really hear them talk, but I was imagining their conversation went like this.
Woman: Hey! What's that on your pants? Eeeks!
Man: (frantically looking down at his pants) What?!?! Where?!?! Huh?? WHAT?!?!!!!!
Woman: That thing! eeeeks!
Man starts jumping here and there for a while.

From there, I saw a cockcroach dropped down onto the floor, and the man kicked it away from him. The cockcroach got kicked and landed a short distance away, and hurriedly ran off elsewhere ...

Exciting. Interesting. Disgusting.

Since I was very free there, I took a bus from LCCT towards the city, more specifically, KL Sentral.
Very long never take a 40-seater bus, and only left the back seat somehow. Bus is quite full, take a look:

On reaching KL Sentral, I met up with my friend YinFoong. Here, he was checking with the people there to see if he can park his car safely there, without getting fines.

We just went for dinner, catch up a little, before I needed to head towards my booked hotel to make sure the room is still there for me!
The traffic there was quite heavy even at 7+pm, so I just took the train myself to find my way to the hotel.

Not that difficult to find in the end. I only know roughly the area to go, Chinatown area. :P
Found the place, checked-in and rested. Not so bad actually, although cannot really compare with the bigger ones since I paid only like S$60 for it.

The next morning, after the buffet breakfast from the hotel (not bad actually), took a taxi down to Damansara Uptown.
Where the hell right? I don't know also. The taxi driver was also a little lost, and we make about 1-2 turns around the place and when finally alighted, it was just where we were when we just entered the area. hahaha
This is where lots of the big companys have an office in, in Petaling Jaya.

When the intro-training ended, it was onlu about 5pm. After chatting with one of the partipants, I went to OneUtama, I think it's the biggest shopping centre in PJ. Had some quick dinner there, and then headed my way to the airport.

Of course, the airport is small, not many things to do. Just before I boarded the plane, took a picture off the place.

Hopefully, I won't step into LCCT again.

Because NO TRAIN!! :P

Budget Terminal

Today is the first time I enter into our Budget Terminal, the terminal which had a naming contest for the budget terminal, and in the end, named as the "Budget Terminal".

It's pretty small. Just a few shops around the check-in area.
The departure gate entrance is just a few steps beside the check-in counters.

There are more shops inside. You cannot do away with Duty Free Shop in any airport, do you?
The whole shopping place is probably smaller than a football field even.
Then again, shopping is not my kind of thing.

Good thing is that, there is still an "Internet Zone" just before the boarding gates. So still can make use of my laptop to do something.
I'm sitting just right here!

And nope, I am not excited at all.
Taking Tiger Airways to Kuala Lumpur. Back tomorrow night.

Chilli Padi

On Saturday, we went to this place called "Chilli Padi" at Heng Mui Keng Terrace, which is at one end of the NUS campus area.

It's a pretty quiet place, especially since it's the weekend. Quite a nice place actually.

We were there for High-Tea Buffet, serviing nonya food.
It's pretty cheap, only $7.80, and this being a new outlet, it has a 30% discount for time being. Don't know how long it will last though.

Of course, with that pricing, cannot expect too much from the food.
It has laksa, mee siam, plus the various nonya kuehs available.
At that kind of pricing, it is definitely value for money.

Since it's at such ulu place, it's still worthwhile to note that there are still pretty many people who went there for the buffet. It was not full house occupancy, but I think it's about 80% occupied with foodies.
hehehe. Not bad for a ulu place.

See Karinna grinning and waiting for the food ... ... ...

Mouseless Days

See this?
Yes. This is my mouse.
The mouse which has been with me since year 2002, and still working hard for me.

2 days ago, was doing stuff at a customer site, and left my mouse there.
Thursday night, whole of Friday, and the morning part of today, my life was without my mouse.

Felt quite handicapped with the mouse to work on the computer actually. And my mouse is of mid-size type, not too big, not too small.
Just nice for my little petite hand. hahaha

Well, today had some meeting in office in the morning, and our partner from the customer site brought back my mouse for me. Of course, he needed to pass me something else, otherwise why would he take the trouble just to hand me my mouse.

Finally, reunited with my mouse.
Now can use my laptop with more ease. :)

Car Scratch

Today was whole day out of office.

Morning went to a customer site to do some demo.
Not fantastic, and probably a long shot to do stuff with them.

Afternoon, went to IBP to meet up another colleague.

Left the place around 4pm.
Guess what, as I reversed my car, I forgot that I was quite near the wall.
As I tried to swirl my car backwards to the right side, I heard scratchy noise from the front of my car.

D'uh!
Dumb me!
I was thinking at that time, that something interesting must have happend there.
Argh!!!!!

Heck care heck care!

Drove all the way back, and it was rainy all the way.
Only when arrived at destination did I take a look at the car.

Guess what, my black car now has strains of yellow paints on the bumper.
It's unique and good to differentiate from other Black Nissan Sunny now I guess.
Ho ho ho!

Also, saw on my facebook, that one of my friends' cancer is now at stage4, and doctor says she has like 6 more months or so.
:(
Well, life is indeed unpredictable.
But she has been strong in facing it, as it appears.

Evelyn, hope a miracle can happen for you!
