Quibble

Sigh.

Received a call at around 1330hrs. My brother called, and said my parents were quarreling damn terokly, and even sort of like started fighting. Asked me to go back to take a look.

So I had to drop my work, delegate some tasks away, and off I go, to take a look at the old folks.

Of course by the time I reached there, things were a little quieter, but nevertheless, the nagging and complaining parts were still pouring into my ears.

One having stubborness and sort of ya-ya-papaya problem, the other having some kind of depression issues. Me, I have mega-headache issues when things like this happen. :P

I guess have to think of how to solve these problems on a longer term view.

F1 First Ever Night Race in Singapore

Tonight is the night. The actual race for the first ever night race.
Aren't we all excited? :D

Tickets to the race ground are not cheap huh?

But then, Karinna went to see the race yesterday!
She got the ticket from her brother, who got his ticket from his wife, who got the tickets from her boss, who got the ticket from we-don't-really-care.

But they didn't stay to watch the qualifying rounds which determine the starting positions of today's race.
Watch at home is more comfortable. :P

According to her, it was damn damn damn noisy when the cars went by. ZOOOoooooooooooooooooooom!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Probably the cars when passed by, will be within your sight for about 2 seconds? hehehe

And yes, they took lots of photos, and she put it in her Windows Live account. 100 over photos taken, but probably less than 20 are with the racing cars in the pictures. I think.
Best of all, some were taken off the big screen at the sitting area. How exciting!!!

So tonight is the night.
Who will be the winner?

No matter what, one of the winners will be Singapore itself.

Esplanade

On Thursday, went past Esplanade again. There were changes, some signs were put up along the road.
Can't decipher what those numbers meant though.

Here's some pictures taken while driving past there that day.

Yesterday didn't pass by that area. But due to heavy rain yesterday, everywhere was having bad jam. I was stucked in the traffic for a long time, and managed to get to workplace only about 1.5 hrs later!
Likewise, when coming back home, there was a reported jam along ECP towards Changi at Rochor, stretched all the way to JTC Hall. I decided to switch to CTE, but alas, the famous CTE is always crowded. Took me about 1.5 hrs to reach home too! What an exciting TeRAfFIC day! :P

F1 Race

Due to the F1 Night Race, several roads were closed/restricted.

Yesterday, we were stucked along Nicoll Highway for almost an hour before I can bring Karinna to her workplace at One Marina Boulevard.

Today, I still use the same route. Don't really care. And the traffic was good! Probbaly all the drivers decided to divert their route to elsewhere, making it easier to drive through this morning.

So for some cheapthrill sake, I asked Karinna to take a few pictures of the going-to-be-closed Esplanade Drive. Feel like King of the Road? :P

Pictures are taken the major cross junction at Suntec-MarinaSquare-OneRaffles area until almost reaching Fullerton Hotel area.

I felt like Hamilton while driving through. heh heh heh

Swiss Backerei

This morning, seven early right early woke up.
We had our 3rd swimming lesson at 0715hrs! Damn early right? Wake up then blur like sotong then drive to Bayshore Park for the lesson.

Surprisingly, the swimming pool water was not too cold. In fact, the temperature was pretty alright. Not bad at all!

So we swam and swam. Think we have all improved, but I think my breathing and relaxation still have lots of room for improvement.
Then the instructor said next lession will have to do 'trap water', and briefly told us the way to do it. Oh great. I'm trapped. All along, I've never been able to do that, and this morning when I tried, I felt I 'trap' like a dog, and more like sink too. Ka na sai.
Next lesson I think will be siong for me. Maybe an oxygen tank would help me.

Anyway, after the lesson, it was like not even 9am yet. We went for our breakfast.

I brought Karinna to Frankel Avenue to this place called "Swiss Backerei". Read about some reviews for this place, and decided to try the things there.

I ordered Rosti with Bratwurst. Bratwurst is sausage lah. Damn chim word right?
This is my Rosti with Bratwurst. Very crispy rosti. ;)

This is Karinna's order. The other famous food there, the Croque is essentially sandwhich topped with cheese with different fillings. She chose Ham, because the shopowner said that's the more popular choice.

Since we had such an exciting breakfast, we decided to top it up with another famous thingy from the shop. A Chocolate Eclair. :D. See the after-swim-and-tired look with the eclair:

All in all, the breakfast costs about $30 leh. How to eat often?

But not bad lah, the food pretty good, the place pretty quainty. Good for wasting time away for a coffee. :)
Can go again!

Tutor

Yesterday, my niece Pauline came over to ask me to teach her some of her schoolworks.

Erh. Damn rusty. Some E-Maths stuff on graphs and circles blahblah, and Physics stuff on velocity/acceleration blahblah.
Took me a while to understand what those things are about also.

This Pauline also funny. Say don't know, but cannot tell me what she doesn't know. If she doesn't know what she didn't know, how am I supposed to tell her the things she doesn't know. Prophet Simon not so smart one :P

Anyway, in the end, think most of the things still sovlable. but still got some I don't know. Too chim for my small brain.

Hopefully, she can grasp the concept well, and apply it correctly. Application of concept is far more important than just knowing the concept.

Now, I cannot remember if I had scolded her terokly yesterday or not. Hehehe. Even if so, orr-bii-good. :P

Stewhaus

Have not been eating much lately. More of energy juices from Monday to Wednesday. No carbo on Thursday and Friday. I've been taking Sliced Fish Soup for the past 2 lunches.

Dinner were more of vegetables, although yesterday did take a bit of rice and some chicken meat.

Today, we went for a more exciting dinner. Was searching for a place to go, and found this place called Stewhaus, where the review was not so bad.

The place is at Siglap, quite close to Siglap Shopping Centre.

Again, never bring my digital camera along, so my mobile is used once again at the slightly dimly lighted place.

The drinks we had. Karinna took Espirit Juice, Lemon Lime flavour. I took the good old Root Beer:

The Woody Mushroom Soup. Ohhhh.... this soup is sedap! Yummy!

Here's the 'Must Try' Crispy Baked Pork Knuckles. Healthier version of the pork knuckles. Still pretty good. However, for better taste of the sinful skins, the non-baked version would be better. :P

As usual, she'll have the first bite. The crispy crispy crisp sounds. OOooooh.

She ordered this Pan Friend Dory Fillet. Not so great. So so. Guess who ate most of this then?

Well, what we didn't try was the stew food. Went Stew House, where they Just Stew It, and we didn't try it out. What a shame!

Overall verdict: Not so bad, but also, doesn't warrant a die die must try chop. Save my chop for my Bedok Hokkien Mee and Bedoke Char Kway Teow, and best of all, Bedok Wan Ton Mee. *grinz*

Hibiscus-Raspberry-Cocktail

See these bottles?

These are our energy drinks during our detoxing days. In the centre, it's Hibiscus, which is for me. On the right, it's Cocktail, for Karinna. On the left, it's Raspberry, which are used by both.

My Hibiscus already finished. No more already. So if I continue, I will also take Cocktail, like this morning.

But I so skinny now. *giggle*
Plus, I'm such a good swimmer now!
Ahhhhhhhhhh.

Simon Swims

Today is a new day of detoxing.

Was relatively ok in the morning. Afternoon felt a little hungry, so drank the energy juices a little bit more.
Usually, I left that portion untouched, wherever possible.

Maybe the truth is mouth itchy, need to eat some things. Since cannot eat, drink the juice. *shrug*. Whatever.

Was at a customer site whole day today working on initial blueprint document. Got sick of it, went back to office around 4pm. Mainly to take some fax for tingkat meals, and also to copy some files from office's file server.

This is a view of part of Sentosa from the customer's site project office.

Sentosa is of course the island near the top left corner of the picture. The road in the centre is the road leading to Labrador Park.

Went to pick Karinna around 1730hrs, then headed to Tampines Swimming Complex. She has her weekly aqua-aerobics lesson. This time, I went along, to practice my swimming.

Think I am getting better already. I feel that my strokes are getting correct-er and correct-er, if ever such word is possible at all. hehehe
Don't wanna say better, because it is still not so correct.

Sometimes, breathing co-ordination makes me breathless. Like kena asthma attack like that. @!$#@$#&*%^*$%@#%^

Swam for close to an hour, of course with lots of rest in between. My arms felt tired man.

Ria Apartment

Yesterday when visiting my parents, my sisters were also there.

And they wanted to plan a holiday sometime in Nov or so.

Destination not fixed yet, but most places would be expensive considering the number of people that would be going along.
Australia would probably costs more than $1500 per person. Japan would be similar as well. Bintan nowadays not cheap too.
Genting seems to be on a lower budget side, and my sister even suggested Ria Apartment in Genting.

I've never stayed there before, and I am not sure if I have the free time to go with them this time round. And I just went there like 2 months ago. :P

So I kaypoh a bit, search some thing on Ria Apartment.

Guess what I found:
Ria Apartment

Kinda exciting huh?

Well, I was along in First World Hotel in July. Nothing happened. Nothing has ever happened to me for all the times I've been to Genting.
Hopefully, it will stay that way.

Orr-mii-tor-hoot.

My Favourite Hits

Had been busy and lazy for the past week. Thus the disappearance act.
Anyway, no one would really bother, so it doesn't matter. :D

Yesterday went for our 3rd swimming lesson. But it rained, and quite heavily too. The lesson was then cancelled. Next week continue.

Concert is on 01 October 8pm at Suntec.
We have tickets to watch it.

We didn't buy it. It was a gift when we purchased the weight-loss package. Ticket costs $88 each, it's the second cheapest ticket range available.

And talking about that, today is a new day to start detoxing again.
Back to my DHD Syndrome.
Detox. Hungry. Die.
:P

This song is very interesting, to me.

I think the female vocal is fantastic! This song somehow has a touch of the tribal feel, and yet it feels quite pop as well.

While I don't particular like rap stuff, but the rap here somehow gel quite well with the song.

Interesting. And their songs make you feel like you're on a piece of vast grassland. They have other songs in youtube. Pretty ok.

rap:yo yo yo come oh yeah
rap:yo yo yo come oh yeah
rap:yo yo yo come oh yeah
rap:yo yo yo come oh yeah
rap:don`t come back

rap:yo yo yo come oh yeah

rap:don`t come back

rap:yo yo yo come oh yeah

Swimming Lesson 2

Yesterday went for our second swimming lesson.

Stopped for 2 weeks, due to some other appointments or what-so-ever.

So yesterday, the swim gets slightly better. We both felt that way. Hand-leg coordination got a bit better, still room for lots of improvement. hehehe

I think I kicked too much and too hard yesterday (cannot relax well under water. :D), so my thighs are a little painful. Terok huh!??!

After the swim, went to take breakfast. Yesterday is non-diet day, so eat-all-I-can.
And then, gained back 1 kg. hahaha

BlooiE

After 3 days of detoxication (yes, another 3 days with just juices and nothing much else), today is the day where we can so called be allowed to eat normal again!

Since we didn't managed to eat at Abof on Karinna's birthday, I decided to bring her another place to eat.

Actually wanted to go to this place called "1 Twenty Six" which is supposedly at the Playground@Big Splash. What a luck! Cannot find. hehehe

So I shifted to another location at Siglap there. It's at Jln Tua Kong. Funny road name huh?
It's called BlooiE's Roadhouse.

She ordered a burger + beer; and I ordered black dory + coffee.
Quite ok for the food. Nice place to be around. A quiet and laidback place.

The pictures taken here is a little dark. Why? It's night time lah! Not enough light.
That's my Black Dory.

This is her burger. Can't remember what burger also.

Total damage about $60, coz' the beer cost $14!
Can go again!

Birthday Celebration

Was a little busy over the weekend to post stuff. Plus lazy too.

So last Saturday was Karinna's birthday.
In the morning, we went to meet up with our financial planner to settle some of the stuff and suggestions he provided.

After that, went to Millenia Walk. Wanted to bring her to eat at this restaurant called Abof at Millenia Walk. Searched around, and then found that it is no longer there.

Originally wanted to go to the restaurant at Labrador Park, but some reviews on the net says it is not exactly great. So idea was dropped.
That's where I stumbled upon this Abof.

Anyway, suay means suay. Don't have means don't have. In the end, we ate at Mushroom Pot. A little healthier, but since it is buffet, eat until quite full also.

See the sleepy look on the birthday gal.

After lunch, went to Toa Payoh Hub. She had appointment to scrub her body and do some treatment. I had no appointment, and loitered around the hub for about 3 hours. *yawn*

On the way back, actually wanted to buy chwee kueh and goreng pisang at Bedok Central, but the queue to carpark was so damn slow, I decided to go back home. :P

Let you guess what present she got! :P
