May Day!

Ahhhhh. I think we have decided to go cycling on 01 May.
Labour day must do a bit of 'labour work'.

First, I have to wake up my wife, then encourage her to go East Coasts.
Thereafter, have to tell her it's better to cycle herself, rather than using joint ones.
She needs to strengthen her knees.

After that, I can leave her alone and go all the way east/west whatever! :P

Hmmm. Any one to join!?!?!?! ;)

Dinner

Today, I arranged a dinner with my siblings.

For as long as I can remember, we never have meals together privately. Not weird to me, just that we are not that close to each other somehow.
Perhaps my two sisters are ok, and my two brothers are relatively ok as well. Probably I am the odd one out. Hmmmm.

Anyway, I got them all for dinner, mainly to discuss my parents situation.

Need to tell each and everyone of them of my parents' illnesses. Yeah, old people have problems cropping up every now and then.
My mother has more kinds of sickness-related problems. My father has some, and more people-related problems.
I have parents' problems. :P

So I treated my siblings to dinner at Eatzi Restaurant, cheaper than I expected. Heh heh heh.

At least now they should be aware of some of the problems, and I'll shoot to them some tasks in future wherever possible, like bringing them to see doctor etc.

I am quite good at arrowing people. :D

Anyway, it's one of those dinners that seldom happen, but I think it's necessary.

Palladine

Finally, my new TV came last night.
Had to rush back home before 8pm yesterday to make sure we can check it out when the delivery came.

We bought Palladine (never hear of right? We too! Actually I do). Made in Singapore product, so support support a bit. 2 years warranty, supposedly full HD LCD TV, whatever it means. Rightfully supposed to be clearer, but no matter how we see, all TV looks the same to us. heh heh heh

It's a 37", so just a good mix between 32" and 40".
I'm ok with any size, as long as it does not sink the top of my TV sideboard any further. I need to open the drawers easily!

Here is is, since it's black, a bit harder to see:

Shopping Day

Today is my mother-in-law's birthday.

We brought her to a restaurant at Ah Moy Street there for lunch. The place is called Beng Hiang, and it's my first time there. Only Karinna went there before during her company's CNY lunch or something like that.

This time didn't take any picture of the food, but I was asked to order for the fish maw soup (which is pretty good), the 'kong ba bau' (which is very very good by Karinna's opinion), and the 'orr ni' which is ... hmm ... ok.
Of course I ordered some other food as well, can't be so cheapo just order those dishes. My brother-in-law and his wife were also there, so needed food for 5 people.

Anyway, after the lunch, Karinna had some lessons, and I intended to go Sim Lim Square for a walk. My mother-in-law was sent home by her son then.

Carrying my full tummy, I took a bus to Sim Lim. Left the car with Karinna for her.
I've been visiting computer shops quite regularly lately, sourcing some laptops for some of my colleagues and eventually myself. But today, I went Sim Lim purely for a walk, not for laptop shopping.

I reached Fu Lu Shou building first, walk a short while, took a palm reading for $2. Just for fun. Then walk around the place to see what people are selling along the streets. There, I bought a iron cover (for the iron, not the iron board). The demo caught my attention, and we had wanted to buy 1 for a long time. Demo looks good, and won't hurt the clothings at all, so $10 gone from me. :P

Then at OG building, they were demonstrating some broom (which works similar to the rubbish bin lorry on the road), and it made me parted with $24.90 again. Good for sweeping furs and dirt along the edge of walls. I think it's ok for the price so I bought it.

Then walk towards Sim Lim, and comb from the top level downwards.

Actually, have nothing in mind to look for, in the end, spent another $160 to buy a complete edition of "Heroes of Might & Magic". I had all along been looking for some compilation which can give me a full set of these games, and finally, I got my hand on it.
I am happy! Here's the front of the gamebox set:

And the back:

Cool?!?!?!?!? :)

Hopefully, something similar for "Heroes Chronicles" can appear as well.
I'm in no hurry, these ain't new games, most of the games were like 10 years old already.

After that, I proceeded to walk walk around Bugis Junction, and then went over to Raffles Place to meet up with my lovely wife.
Some pictures of kids playing the fountain at Bugis:

We went LCD TV shopping. Wanted to buy one to replace our current 29" CRT TV, which is sinking our TV dashboard due to its weight. hehehe

Don't know which 1 to buy, Samsung? Sony? Palladine? Akira? 32"? 37"? 40"?
Sigh, so headache leh.

If cannot decide, I'll just go for the cheapest!
Ha ha ha ha!

I think tomorrow should make a final decision on the TV.

Summon

Today, went with Karinna to SGH. She had some problem with her knees, and needed to go there for some X-Ray & MRI scanning, thereafter, followup consultation somewhere in May.

Old people sickness, terok huh? :P

We reached there around 1045, but all carparks were full as expected. So I alighted her first, so that she can do registration and start waiting. I drove off to somewhere further to look for carpark. In the end, I parked somewhere nearby the interchange there, then take a slow walk up to the hospital clinics.

So waiting was the game. And waiting is the name. That's the name of the game.
Waited until hungry, so went for a quick lunch. By the time she actually got to do her first test, it was already 1240 or so. Then somemore waiting time, and the MRI took like 20 mins.

Thereafter, went to do the X-ray. Waited for a while (which the nurse there knew we went off for lunch, so we got back into quicker queue), but at least taking X-ray didn't need a long time.

Again, have to wait for some confirmation, and by the time we can leave the place, it was already close to 1400.

As we reached our car, we saw this:

Cannot see clearly?

Well, that's a parking fine, courtesy of URA. I put coupon for 2 hours, was delayed by the 'efficiency' of SGH, and penalised by the efficiency of the URA parking attendant. Tough luck.

Past Life

Believe?

Yesterday, went to Karinna's friend's house. Chit-chat, watch some spiritual video, and the hosts showed something intrigue on past life.

Do you believe that?

I, personally, think such things exist. Rather, believe should be the word.
I tend to gear more towards Buddhism kind of teaching, and that karma stuff do play a part while we are living our life cycles until we reach some kind of nirvana stage.

I probably have forgotten most parts of my knowledege of Buddhist Studies from my school days, but the gist of it would probably still be somewhere hidden in my mind.

So yesterday, the hosts showed something on YouTube regarding, past life, and some evidence from some real life people talking about it.

Stories made? Maybe. Check it if you want, but not for the too faint-hearted.

I won't put the Part2 here. :P

Little Matthew

Long time never see my little nephew Matthew. Last Sunday went back to visit my parents, little Matthew was also there.

Of course, the other baby Casper also there, and Casper was so excited to see Matthew that he made lots of noise, and was like dying to sayang Matthew like that. hehehe. Kinda cute.

So fun so fun, so took some pictures, and ta-dah!!!!!

Tyre

This morning, after dropping Karinna at her office, I went to office for a while before going to a customer site.

Had a new colleague joined us today, so went back basically to issue laptop to him, then let him have some free time to get some logistics stuff done, and continue with familiarising the BW systems we have in office.

Anyway, that was not the point of this blog. ha ha ha

So after handing over the laptop, and a short brief, went back to my car and take a look at the right-back tyre, because when I arrived in the morning, I noticed my car tyre to be quite flat, and I mean pretty flat. Flat until quite pretty. :P

Thus, I decided to double check, and give myself some time to bring to some service centre to get it checked.

I drove to a Shell station as I drive towards HarbourFront. So the car mechanic checked, and told me there's a nail stucked onto the tyre, that's why my tyre became pretty!

Luckily, it can be repaired. Yes. It can be repaired. Basically, he poked the hole bigger, and then he get some rubber that is flexible enough to be pushed into the enlarged hole, and get it pulled out to fill up the hole. A little trimming required at finish touch to make it less ugly. hehe

Ahhh.... and it costs me $10.70, so I am pretty happy with it.
Yes. I am pretty. :P

You're Fired!

Seems like those shows I like to watch are coming back onto the little goggle box.

The current showings of the Apprentice is of Season 6, which had already finished its airings in the US. You can check out here to see who is the eventual winner of that season.

It only started showing last week here, and today was only the second episode.

Kinda funny to watch the swimsuit display, especially the gay guy.
Cannot take it, but I guess Americans have their own special way of thinking, at least some American.

This coming Wednesday, one of my favourite variety shows from local media, 稀游记2.
It's really a very good documentary show, as it is not exactly the normal entertainment shows. The host is still Belinda Lee, still 10 episodes, going to 10 different places looking for Singaporean living in foreign land.

So many shows to watch, not much time, how?

Harvey Norman

Last Monday went to Funan Centre, wanted to buy laptop for a new staff.
Walk around, and went to Harvey Norman as well.

There was some promotion going on, in the end, bought an Acer notebook for the new staff, which came onboard on 01 April.

Today, went to Funan Centre again. Ahhh. Yes. Need to buy more laptops.
Was hoping not to buy the same notebook, but ended up getting the same one.

Acer 6292, with 160GB HDD, 3GB Ram, Windows Vista Business OS.

Today bought 2 more. I think will need to buy another one for myself soon too.
But have to wait a while, I think my credit limit should be reached soon, so probably not enough credit to use my credit card for now.
hehehe.

There were a few gifts that came along with the purpose. One of them is a 4GB thumb drive. Can be very handy, and very large too!

Saturday Fever

Yesterday was a 'busy' day.

Went to office in the morning, as I arranged for my colleagues to be in office to conduct a short training for some newer staff.
Somehow, the response was quite overwhelming, as there were a lot more people who came than I expected. Just that I didn't prepare much for those who were already know the stuff that I was covering.
I felt it was also a good thing, as most of us are usually out at customers' sites, such sharing sessions might be good for building rapport among everyone in the company.
Probably will do more of this in the future. Hopefully.

Then after the stint in office, went to pick Karinna (she also went office to work, we are very hardworking.. hehehe), then drove all the way to Bukit Batok Civil Service Club for practising our Rekki Tummo. Wah. Was damn sleepy siah. Smile until my chin hurts also.
Hope it will revert back to CSC at Serangoon there, at least much nearer. Bukit Batok really too far. Hmmm

So we finished around 6pm, then quickly went back home for dinner, because after dinner, had to drive off to Yishun to attend the wake of a relative. So drove Karinna, and my mother-in-law there. Stayed for for an hour or so, then went back home.

On the way home, stopped over at Giant Tampines. Had to buy rice. Need to be kiasu a bit like the aunties and uncles, stock up rice before it is gone! :D
Now we eat brown rice, left 2 packets of 5kg brown rice that we eat, so we took the 2 packets.
Planting rice is never fun.
Bent from morn till set of sun.
Cannot stand and cannot sit.
Cannot rest a little bit.
*yawn*

Aloha!

Finally, I made the booking for the chalet.

It's been difficult to do booking, as I cannot get any booking for consecutive Fri/Sat or Sat/Sun. Most of them have been booked and gone already.

I decided for Aloha Changi, as it is much more convenient place than Aloha Loyang. In any case, Loyang is much more fully booked, that I cannot even choose an appropriate slot!

So Changi shall it be, then I can go ghost-hunting. :D

I've booked Netheravon Terraces BGL C for 25&26 May, which is Sun/Mon. Immediately after school holiday starts.
Anyway, I can only book 2 months in advance, so have some disadvantages againsts those Civil Services people who have 3 months in advance for booking. That explains why most of the weekends were gone by the time I wanted to book.
Boo hoo hoo!

Having said all above, remember.
Today is 01 April. ;)
