Mesh Up

Few days ago, when Ethereum price reached my intended sale price, I sold some away.

Made about 30% profit.

I know, the price has gone even higher as at today, but I do not know when is the highest right?
So be happy with what it was, and hope it still can go higher.
I think it will, and I still have some. :P

And then there's Sitex, and I wanted to buy some things.
A better Wifi connectivity, 'cos the wireless connectivity at my study room is really not up to par. Only can get 60Mbps even with 1G Fibre connection.
And there's my mini iPad, it has been cranky for past 2 weeks. I think the sensor for the touch screen went haywire. Keep opening/closing apps and clicking as and when it wants.

At the end, I decided to make my wireless connectivity better.

Despite a better price slash with Linksys-Velop, I chose Tp-Link Deco M5.
Purely because of the price.

But I didn't buy at Sitex.
Price is the same in Sitex and in Challenger. Sitex gives out a free bluetooth speaker.
In Challenger, being MyRepublic Fibre Broadband user, I can get a discount of $40.
I decided to take the $40 discount. :)

Installation was pretty easy.

Did quite many tests with it.
The Deco App always record a speed much faster.
Forgot to test when the 1st piece was plugged near my router.

The more important place is the study room.
When placed at my desk area, the speed is now ranging betweem 100 to 160Mbps.
Not so bad, although I was expecting higher than that.
Still, pretty good enough. Must be the walls. :P

If I place one of the piece at Karinna's desk area, the speed drops tremendously.

Well, need to re-arrange some tables and cupboards in the room, to fix up a study table for Zyan. Once that is done, I will try and see which location might be better to boost up the internet speed, if possible.
Still quite happy with it for now.

Hmmm. How about my mini iPad? :P

What Phantom?

Was driving along somewhere the other day.

Zyan suddenly talked about some posters hanging along the road, and said he wants to watch 3 Phantoms.
For a moment, I didn't know what it was.
Then he pointed out the poster to me.

Woah!
I only know some of the songs, only roughly know the story, and only know there is certain performance coming to Singapore.

It was never in my to-do-list to do anything about Phantom Of The Opera.

To make sure he knows what is it about, I showed him some youtube videos of the 3 Phantoms.
It's simply musical, not sure if he can sit still for the show.

And he said yes he is ok with it!
D'uh!
Ok. So now the father has to watch this musical with him.

Proceeded to book the ticket at 3 Phantoms, and of course, I will choose the cheaper tickets lah.
Almost the last row. Hahaha.

So now I have a date with my son next Saturday.
Looking forward to Music of the Night.

Class Outing

It has been a long time to have a 'free' Saturday for Zyan.

His Chinese class schedule has been changed. Today is the 'first' Saturday that he has no specific activity on (other than those we skipped classes) for quite some time.

However, it doesn't mean it is free day.

Early in the morning, went to St Stephen Primary School.
A friend of ours couldn't make it to bring the son to the school carnival.
I became the nanny for the morning for 2 boys.

Lots of games, lots of food, and lots of people. :P
The 2 boys had loads of fun trying out the game stalls.
I think the more popular ones are still the pokemon-related.
But kids will still play more than that.

Took a picture of him playing non-pokemon game. Basically just use a hammer hit the gadget to bounce the ball into some holes on the wall.
He was aiming for some prizes from the stall. :P

Also met my secondary schoolmate Siew Mei there.
Somehow, I knew I would meet here there today. LOL.

Then we went to cut hair.
Father and son hair-bonding session. hehehe
Now both look so stylo, and milo.

Went home to rest a little bit.
The highlight of the day is a class outing.
Yes. His P1 class outing, organised by enthusiastic parents of his 1Joy class.
This is not the first class outing actually. Zyan missed out on the first outing last month.
Should not miss such occasion for the kids. They will all love it.

Each parent chip in to help prepare stuff and food.
We went there around 5.15pm.
Some were already there lah, since it was to start at 5pm.

Once there, kids will automatically run around and join in the fun.
I do think at least 1/3 of the class students were there.
Not sure if it is more than 1/2. :P
Afterall, his class is only about 30 students. That's probably a norm nowadays??

There's also birthday celebration for kids born in April.

The cake was cut after the 'dinner' for the kids.
They had fun eating and playing. So nice.

Getting into the dark, the game continues.
Gamemaster Uncle Maneesh has Bingo for the kids!
Parents use technological torch to bring light to the place. How cool is that?!?! :)

By around 8pm, it's time to pack up and go home.

There were a lot more pictures snapped by various parents.
Children were happy.
Parents were smiling.
Memories were made.

Laughter-induced Syncope

This afternoon, I went to the fridge to take something.
Karinna was at the fridge picking out something too.
I was waiting behind.

As she turned, she got a fright, like how a prank is done to show people in shock.
Quite funny.
So I laughed laughed laughed.
Then she pushed me gently ...

Then the next moment that I was aware of is that, both she and my helper were asking me what happened. Why was I lying on the floor.
I managed to tell them I was resting. :P

So yes, I had a momentary blackout.
I had no recollection when I fainted. I had to ask Karinna after that.
She said she pushed me gently, and then I went down gently onto the floor too.
She told me she thought I was joking when that happened. :P

I didn't know how I fell. Whether was it gently, and plonked down hard onto the floor.

Out of curiosity, I went to the famous place to check. Google.
I typed "why do I faint after laughing hard".

Tadah!
Google is simply amazing.

So I read up some articles on such cases.
It seems like my blood pressure and heartbeat was, for a short moment, going down quite low that my brain cannot handle the situation, and made me passed out.
It's like Windows' BSOD (Blue Screen of Death).
Reboot, and wake up.

So luckily I wake up.
According to the articles, it is supposed to be quite harmless, but if it happen frequently, probably should consult a doctor.

That means to say, laugh until die is a possibility.

I think I will have to laugh less from now onwards ... ... ...
hahahahaha

Temples Visiting

Woke up early today although had wanted to sleep longer on Sunday.
But today we have temples visiting event for the CNY!
For the past 2 years, we missed it due to some other event that clashes with the date.
This year, it appeared to be do-able, so we registered for it.
Originally didn't intend to bring Zyan along. I woke him up in the morning to ask him go pee. Then asked if he want to follow us. He said yes, and then became the only kid in our group for the visit. :)

Met up at Kampong Ubi CC. Waited for Minister to arrive, and then we started the temples visit.
First stop is just opposite KUCC.
Though I have stayed in my area for about 5 years plus, I have not really visited most of the temples.
Maybe just 2 or 3 only probably.

With these arranged visits, the respective temples' management team would welcome us with food and refreshments.
I think today is probably the day where we have the most 'Lo Hei' ever, in a single day!
Or at least for me. :P

It is actually quite interesting.
One of the temples served very nice coffee! That was the 2nd temple we visited! Very near my home actually. hehehe.
Wonder can go there drink everyday or not?? :P

I actually cannot remember exactly where are the pictures taken.
As we grow older, new things cannot remember, old things cannot forget. :P

This should be the temple near Lor 108 Changi

One of the many temples at Arumugam Road

Getting Z to do the donation in most of the temples

This temple at Lengkok Dua has a see-saw.
Some of the temples were very crowded. Most crowded would be the Lorong Koo Chye Sheng Hong Temple at Arumugam Road.
That is also the temple where Karinna and myself go previously to 拜太岁!

After visiting more than 10 temples in the morning (I don't have the count), went to Jalan Senyum for 2 temples visit, and had our lunch break there.
One of them is a Thai temple (Arumugam Road has one too!)

After lunch, continued our visit to a smaller temple along Jalan Kembangan. They had lion dance there too.

Can you see the number? Would the number come out first prize?!?!?!? :)

Then we headed to the temple along Changi Road. This temple has a special way of praying.
I can't describe it. Should have taken a video to see.

By this time, actually quite tried already. Still quite a few more to go!
One of the temples has some performance.
It is something of Japanese dance. I am not sure if it is a Japanese temple or not though.

Then went to some temples at Chai Chee area.
By the end of that, sibeh sibeh tired liow. Somemore, the sun ... argh!!!
Hot siah!

The paintings were supposed to be drawn and coloured.

The last temple visited.

For the whole day, we've been circling around many parts of Eunos/Kembangan/JooChiat.
Up and down from the bus.
Pray a bit, eat a bit, drink a bit. :P
And got a long of mandarins from the various temples also.

So we learnt.
If next year come again, need to be a big bag to put all the mandarins together.
Good that one of my NC members had an extra big plastic bag for us.

So ...
Will we come again next year?
You want to join us? :P

CNY 2017

It's 2017!
It's time for the Rooster to appear!
Every year CNY also very busy.
Busy buying goodies. Busy eating goodies. Busy enjoying the festive moods. :P

As usual, my family members will come to my place.
This time round, we removed the usual chicken curry and fried bee hoon and sometimes ngor hiong (plus other food lah).
We did nasi lemak instead.

My helper said she cooked 7 cups of rice, and voila! All gone!

This time, added some entertainment for the kiddies (plus some oldies can enjoy too).
I bought a game console few weeks back.
I don't really play many of these games. I am not good with Street Fighter kind of games.
Probably shooting games I can do better. :)
Raiden!

Zyan showing his uncle his Pac-man skill

By about 2pm, all finished their makan, and started to play cards.
By then, one section of my living is arcade style game, another section is casino style game. Another quieter section is 'sit-down-and-eat-and-do-nothing' section. :P

After playing blackjack for sometime, the game would switch to mah-jong for a while.
Cannot show too many casino-style games lah. lol

Also, we took some family photo as well.
Showing only the funny pose taken.

As evening approached, the arcade was still pretty much a hot property
Well, it would appear the game console is a good investment for keeping the kids occupied. :P

Other pictures here

Once they were all gone, we then had our dinner, and then prepared ourselves to visit Karinna's uncle far up in Sembawang.

Every year is about the same ... ... ...
Next year is Year of the Dog. Have to 拜太岁.
Next year then say.

新年快乐!恭喜发财!心想事成!身体健康!
