Dragon News

News these few days were all about the dragon boat team tragedy.

Not that I am heartless (actually I am), but they keep harping on the same old thing. Standard answer from officials will always be investigations will be carried out thoroughly blahblahblah ... ...
Questions will always be raised on why never wear life jacket blahblahblah ...
In future, regardless of places, must wear life jacket blahblahblah ...

I mean, some accidents are accidents. And I do agree that they should wear life jackets. Afterall, such sport has a higher chance of danger, so precaution is necessary.

If the reason for the boat to be capsized is true accident, then whether the rowers wear life jacket or not will have small impact only. If any water current is strong enough to pull you down, I believe you wear 10 jackets will also be fruitless. The forces of nature is enough to kill.
What is left would only be luck. If you're lucky, water current may push you upwards as well, and you would be saved.

Having said that, it is still better to wear life jackets. Safety first.

However, let's not hope that it will be forced in EVERYTHING. Otherwise, in future if you board a plane, you may be forced to wear and inflate the life jacket.
Just in case ... ... :P

To end it here, may the five souls rest in peace.
