Red Tapes

Yesterday my sister Kelly called me, asking me to help her draft some emails to some authorities in order to get her neighbouring shop to reduce noise level.

She owns a beautician shop, and recently part of the unit was leased to a tenant doing music recording services. How exciting!
Well, it turns out that the noise level of awful singings are quite a high decibels, and the singers are usually awful to hear, and the songs are basically re-sung over and over again throughout the day! Very exciting indeed!

The shop owner would not want to deal with the new tenant directly, as it would result in paying the tenant a sum of fees for termination.

My sis asked HDB to help. They came. Took some pictures. Off they go, saying they will followup with the owner. Nothing heard for the past 3-4 weeks.
She called police at Hougang, was told a similar complaint was filed before, and they will pass the case to Ang Mo Kio HQ station. Nothing heard.
Best of all, my sis went to "Meet-the-MP" session. To her horror, she was told that the MP does not want to meet her as she is just a tenant, and not the owner. Wow. Service to the people! Wow wow. Wow wow wow! Not even listening, how to service the public? Makes you wonder?

So she needs me to help her write some official letter or email to get attention from some relevant authorities.
I don't really know which is the right authority that will address this too!
Anyway, spent my night cruising around the government websites. Went put some query/feedback at HDB site, ACRA site, and chanced upon a CutRedTape site setup to help public being pushed from 1 agency to another.

So far, only received a reply from HDB, although not a help reply yet.

We'll see.

Then again, I'll be out of Singapore this Friday. Don't really have much time to followup until I am back on 07 Apr.
Let's hope the right feedback can come from the CutRedTape site. If not, just another waste of people's money to set up useless stuff.
